The game kicks off at 2pm (UK) when Bournemouth host Leicester on Sunday 19 July at the Vitality Stadium.
Bournemouth had a surprisingly good game against Manchester City on Tuesday (2:1), and will definitely feel disappointed to come away empty-handed after pushing the runners-up to the very last minute of the game. However, they will have to forget that game, and focus on what's in front of them. Game against Southampton is the second last game of the season, and only maximum three points will be enough to still have chances of survival in the Premier League.
Coming into the match against Bournemouth, the Saints are undefeated in the last five Premier League games (W2,D3), having drawn the last game against Brighton on Thursday (1:1). Ralph Hasenhuttl shuffled his squad in that game, as was expected. They sit comfortably in the middle of the table, safe from relegation, and with no honors to fight for, so it's only natural for their manager to give some playing time to young and fringe players.
BOURNEMOUTH VS SOUTHAMPTON MATCH ANALYSIS
After five years in the Premier League, Bournemouth are on the brink of relegation, and their local rival has an opportunity to strike the final blow when they meet on Sunday. The Cherries need to pick up four points in their last two games to have a chance to stay up. However, judging by their form after restart, it may be easier said than done.
Eddie Howe's side have lost five matches after restart (W1,D1,L5), and their emphatic defeat of Leicester was their only home victory in five games (W1,D2,L2). That win, coupled with their defeat against Man City, may be a sign of improvement, but it just might be too late for them to turn their fortune around.
Their two most recent games against Southampton ended in draws (0:0, 1:1), and anything but a defeat on Sunday will provide them with a little glimmer on hope.
The Saints haven't suffered a defeat in three consecutive games away against Bournemouth, and actually have a pretty decent away record from home this season - they are fifth in the PL. They are also undefeated in their last five PL games (D3, W2). As mentioned above, Ralph Hasenhuttl will probably rotate his squad again, with Kyle Walker-Peters back in the defence again, and Jack Stephens will probably be called on once more.

With Bournemouth's survival on the line, it will be a difficult task for them with Southampton's away form this season. Five of six last Saints's away games had over 2.5 goals, and Eddie Howe will have to mend his leaky defence first, and look to score next.
However, if their attacking game is on the same level as in their two previous fixtures (Leicester, Manchester City), they will have plenty of reason to be positive about, even though their destiny is not solely in their hands, with West Ham and Watford having a say in those matters, as well.
