Bournemouth host Watford at the Vitality Stadium (Bournemouth) in the 33rd round of the Championship and the match kicks off at 12.30 pm (UK) on Saturday, February 27. Read our reasons for Bournemouth vs Watford prediction and betting tips.
Watford are chasing their fifth consecutive win on Saturday afternoon after they celebrated a 3-2 win at Blackburn in midweek when they head down south to the Vitality Stadium to take on Bournemouth. The third-placed Hornets have certainly improved in the recent weeks with 21 points from their last ten games (W7, D2, L1), while the Cherries have slipped into 7th and are looking to avoid a third loss on the trot after suffering a 2-1 home defeat against another play-off candidates, Cardiff on Wednesday night.
For Bournemouth, who began this campaign with top-two ambitions, the immediate challenge is to get back into the play-off spots after successive losses. Woodgate was handed the reins on a deal until the end of the season last Sunday despite defeat at Queens Park Rangers 24 hours earlier. Thierry Henry and John Terry were among those linked with Bournemouth following Jason Tindall's sacking, but Woodgate's tally of 10 points from five games as a caretaker boss was enough to see him land the job, albeit on a short-term contract.
However, after a good run and performances from February 6 (W3, D1), Bournemouth are going through a slump in the last ten days. Their winning series was interrupted with a surprising 1-2 loss to QPR in London, followed by another disappointment and a home defeat to Cardiff in midweek. Shane Long is obviously doing his best lately, but not even his two goals in the last two games could have helped the team. The Cherries slipped to 7th place now, having recorded 49 points from 32 games.
On the other hand, the Hornets are definitely looking to get back to top-flight immediately as the change of managers has definitely galvanized the squad after Vladimir Ivic was sacked in December, just four months into his reign. Since Xisco Munoz took charge, their record across all competitions is ‘W8, D2, L3’ under the Spaniard and the Hornets are now flying after failing to score in their last three matches prior to their five-game unbeaten run (W4, D1).
That 6-0 victory over Bristol and hard-fought wins against Preston, Derby, and Blackburn, Rams have lifted the mood at Vicarage Road, giving fans hope that their side can still challenge for the top two. Under Xisco the Hornets have now collected 26 points from his 12 league matches in charge, and maintaining that ratio may be enough to edge out the likes of Norwich, Brentford and Swansea come the end of the campaign.

Watford travel to Bournemouth holding a slight advantage with 7 wins to the hosts’ 3 in their last 20 head-to-head encounters. However, 10 of the last 14 league meetings between Bournemouth and Watford have ended as a draw, with each team winning the other two apiece.
Watford FC have earned three huge points on Wednesday night at Ewood Park against Blackburn. Can they have another successful away day this Saturday at Vitality Stadium? Bournemouth are surely going to be much rougher opponents and with both teams looking to boost their promotion chances, another draw may be on hands, as both teams will look to avoid defeat first.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
