Brentford host Bristol at the Brentford Community Stadium (London) in the postponed match of the 23rd round in the Championship and the match kicks off at 7.45 pm (UK) on Wednesday, February 3.
Brentford have been impressive in the Championship so far, and sit 3rd in the standings. Having narrowly missed out last season, Thomas Frank’s side are right in the hunt for the automatic promotion again, after a 7-2 thrashing of Wycombe. The Bees are taking an 18-match (W10, D8) unbeaten run in the league into the Wednesday’s meeting with Bristol. The injury-hit visitors, on the other hand, travel to the capital city in 9th place with 39 points so far. The Robins are gong through a slump recently, and are blowing hot and cold with five wins and eight defeats in the last 13 league matches. They are coming into the midweek’s fixture on the back of a disappointing 1-0 defeat at Derby.
Brentford are the Championship’s most in-form side, picking up more points across their previous eight matches than any other team (W6, D2), and scoring 3+ goals in four of their six wins in that run. Their current goal average of 1.8 is the division’s highest, unquestionably helping them stay unbeaten in the league since October.A win in this match would give Brentford a fifth straight home league victory,
Against bottom-placed Wycombe, goals from Ethan Pinnock, Sergi Canos, Josh Dasilva and two goals apiece for Tariqe Fosu and Ivan Toney did the damage. However, it was not all smooth sailing for the Bees as they were 2-2 level at half-time. However, their resilience and ruthlessness showed after the interval when they finally broke down the relegation-fighting visitors.
As for Bristol, the Robins’ 'streaky' trait has shown its face again as they have been switching between winning and losing in their last 7 Championship games (W3, L4). Interestingly they haven’t recorded a single draw in 13 matches, sharing the points lin the second-tier last on November 25. They continue with see-saw results but are still in the play-off mix with only three points less than a sixth-placed Bournemouth.
However, the play-off push has suffered another dent on Sunday after a defeat against rejuveniled Rams. The Robins missed the opportunity to move level on points with Bournemouth and their second loss in three ahead of this tough encounter in London. More worryingly, they are visiting the top-scoring Championship side (45), while being absolutely toothless on the road recently scoring just once across their previous five away league matches.

Brentford have lost just one of their last 12 league matches against Bristol City (W7, D4), way back in October 2018, while Bristol are, somewhat surprisingly, based on current form, unbeaten in their last three away league matches against Brentford (W1 D2).
Overall, the Bees have been more successful than the Robins with twice as many wins (10) than Bristol (5) in their past 20 matches in all competitions. Brentford won the reverse fixture, too, winning 4-0 at the Ashton Gate Stadium on the first day of 2021.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
