Brentford host Coventry in the 5th round of the Championship at Brentford Community Stadium (London) on Saturday, October 17 and the match kicks off at 3pm (UK).
MATCH PREVIEW
The last year play-off finalists have a disappointing start of the new campaign as they are sitting in the 15th place with only 4 points from their first four matches. Second round win (3-0) against Huddersfield at their fantastic, albeit empty new stadium was followed by a draw against Millwall (1-1) and a shocking defeat to Preston (2-4). As for Coventry, they have also picked-up four points so far and are three places below the Bees in the table. Their only win was a second round 3-2 defeat of QPR, followed by a goalless draw against Barnsley and a home defeat to Bournemouth (1-3).
MATCH ANALYSIS
Being so close to the relegation zone with four points after four weeks (W1-D1-L2) is not the start they were hoping for after almost securing the promotion in the Championship play-off finals last season. Since their surprise defeat on the opening day at Birmingham their league form is frustrating, but they have progressed to the Carabao Cup quarter-finals for are the first time in their history after knocking out Fulham (3-0) If only they could translate that form to the league, where they are too inconsistent at the moment which was evident in their most recent home match against Preston.
They were stunned by visitors' second-half comeback as they surrendered the 2-0 lead at the half-time by shipping four goals after the interval. After losing the play-off final Brentford could be forgiven for suffering a bit of a hangover. Last season they showed they knew how to control games and were brilliant when it came to creating chances and being in control, but they need a few good results on the trot in the league to get their campaign going.
As for the Sky Blues, they shouldn't be too disappointed after their defeat to promotion candidates Bournemouth. Coventry caused problems in flashes but were unable to create the chances to truly trouble keeper Asmir Begovic. In the aftermath manager Mark Robins admitted that his side is still on the learning curve, but nevertheless, have had a decent start to the season.
They have been missing from the Championship for eight years. Mark Robins, in his second stint at the club, did an excellent job of leading the team back to the second-tier, and he did so in style. For them, the biggest objective will be to stay up and anything better than that will be a bonus. They were a bit unfortunate last weekend to only get a point from the Burnsley game, but as long as they are not giving them away, they are headed in the right direction.

Saturday's match will be only 4th match involving Brentford and Coventry as they last shared a league in two seasons from 2012 to 2014. Brentford have an upper hand in those matches with 3 wins and a draw. The statistics is highly irrelevant here obviously as they have met on so very few occasions, but it does confirm the fact that Brentford are clear favourites at least because of their championship experience. They have been in the top-half of the table for too long not to know how to deal with little dip in their performance.

Wyatt grew up in the suburbs of London and he is a big Chelsea fan. As a young boy, he found his love for football, which became an obsession, but when he tried playing it he soon realized that he just wasn't talented enough. Bearing that in mind, Wyatt decided to learn everything there is to know about all the teams and players, with special focus on Premier League and Championship . Wyatt has a big affection for Championship and he is well versed in all the teams and knows their advantages and weak spots very well. He is an economist, and being one makes him good with numbers and also good with the odds. His specialty are BTTS matches.
