BRIGHTON VS BLACKPOOL MATCH ANALYSIS
A place in the FA Cup last 16 will be at stake when Brighton and Blackpool take on each other at Amex Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Seagulls aim to build on the Third Round win against League Two side Newport after a penalty shoot-out and a Premier League win over Leeds. The Seasiders, on the other hand, did well to shock west Brom in the FA Cup last 64, but they are on a four-game winless run in the League One. They are now targeting another Premier League scalp when they travel to Brighton for the Fourth Round of the FA Cup.
Brighton secured vital three Pl points last weekend at Leeds (1-0) which have opened up a five-point gap from the bottom three as we reach the halfway mark of the campaign. There is another important league match against Fulham coming up during the week for them, but the boss Graham Potter is expected to field a relatively strong team as this seems like a very good opportunity to reach the last 16. In their previous round, the Seagulls saw of the League Two side after penalties (1-1). The Seagulls reached the FA Cup Quarter Final in 2018 and the Semi-Final in 2019, so they might be keen on progressing all the way this time around, even though securing the top-flight survival remains a priority. The win at Elland Road ended their ten-game run without a win in all competitions (excluding the win on penalties at Newport) since November 21 against Villa in the league. They are also without a win at the AMEX Stadium since September, so they will be eyeing to snap a nine-game run without a win here.
Blackpool, on the other hand, were one of the previous round’s giant-killers when they eliminated Premier League strugglers WBA on penalty kicks in early January, and The Tangerines showed enough attacking intent in their 2-2 normal time draw to suggest they can impact the scoresheet again at the AMEX Stadium. It’s been a difficult few years for Blackpool as they have slipped back into the lower echelons of English Football and their sole ambition this year will be to consolidate their place in League One. This is the furthest they have reached in the Fa Cup since 2011/12 (Round 5) and any long run here would be considered a bonus while the focus is still on their third-tier campaign. The Tangerines have won only one in eight (excluding penalties) in all competitions but showed resilience in earning a 1-1 draw at the League One leaders Hull last weekend. Boosted by this result they will head for the AMEX Stadium with nothing to lose in their bid to upset the odds.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
