Brighton host Everton at The Amex Stadium (Brighton) in the 31st round of the Premier League and the match kicks off at 8.15 pm (UK) on Monday, April 12. Read our reasons for Brighton vs Everton prediction and betting tips.
Brighton saw their winning run of two matches brought to a juddering halt against Man United on Sunday night as they lost 2-1 at Old Trafford despite taking an early lead. However, after the 18th-placed Cottagers lost 3-1 to Aston Villa, Graham Potter’s men still remain six points clear of the relegation zone with eight games to play. Meanwhile, Everton put an end to a three-game losing streak in all competitions last weekend but could only draw 1-1 with Crystal Palace. They still have a game in hand over most teams above them, so the outcome of the game at the Amex could prove crucial.
Brighton eased their relegation fears with back-to-back wins over Southampton and Newcastle before the international break and returned to action with a brave effort at Man United. Danny Welbeck opened the scoring against his former club at Old Trafford and was unfortunate not to be awarded a penalty when tangling with Harry Maguire. However, goals from Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood gave United a 2-1 win, leaving Graham Potter frustrated to come away with nothing.
Albion host Europe-chasing Everton on Monday, followed by fourth-placed Chelsea the following Tuesday. They also still have to play high-flying West Ham, runaway leaders Manchester City and, Arsenal. The Seagulls are certainly playing well enough to steer clear of trouble and this is another decent chance to close in on safety. Only the inability to capitalise in front of goal and convert impressive performances into points has kept Brighton from mid-table security.
As for Everton, they were being talked of as top-four contenders at times this term but their season is in danger of fizzling out. The Toffees went into the international break under a cloud after losing two league games and crashing out of the FA Cup. Starting up again with a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace at Goodison, where Eagles’ Michy Batshuayi scored a late equaliser two minutes after coming off the bench to cancel out James Rodriguez’s 56th-minute strike, will have done little to improve Carlo Ancelotti’s mood.
Everton have the talent to move back up the table but momentum is a big thing in sport and they are lacking that asset right now. With just five points separating them from the Champions League and potentially just two from the Europa League, this season is far from over despite the recent lull for the men in blue prior to this international break. Everton remains in the running for a top-four finish and place in next season’s Champions League, but their chances are fading fast.

Brighton meet Everton after going unbeaten in all three home Premier League matches against the Toffees (W2 D1), last losing at home to the Toffees in the top-flight in 1982-83. Home advantage has been the key to recent encounters between Brighton and Everton, with the away team tasting defeat in their last six head-to-head meetings. Current Premier League form also favours Albion, so we’re expecting that trend to continue in Monday’s night’s contest at Amex Stadium.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
