Brighton host Leicester at the Amex Stadium (Brighton) in the 27th round of the Premier League and the match kicks off at 8 pm (UK) on Saturday, March 6. Read our reasons for Brighton vs Leicester prediction and betting tips.
The Premier League title race may be over, but the chase for the top four only gets more interesting by the week. Leicester currently sit third, one point behind second-placed Man United, having shared the spoils at Burnley in midweek (1-1). Up next for the Foxes is a trip to Brighton to face a Seagulls side that is in the midst of a heated race themselves. They remain in the safety zone, after back-to-back defeats, but not by much and goal differential is certainly their friend right now. So every point, and goal, matters when the two sides meet on Saturday.
Since the 3-3 draw with Wolves in early-January, Brighton have scored just five goals in nine games and they continue to spurn gilt-edged chances. A recurring theme has continued to fester in Brighton's season, namely, they do not score enough goals. Time and time again, Albion have dominated games but failed to put away their often outplayed opponent. This was very evident in the 2-1 loss to Crystal Palace and the 1-0 defeat to West Brom in their last two league outings.
Lewis Dunk’s disallowed first-half goal after a quick free-kick was one of the biggest talking points last weekend and contributed to a defeat at West Brom. Brighton could not blame the referee for missing two penalties though. Once again it was an impressive performance with nothing to show for it. Had it not been for their strong defence, with just two goals conceded in seven games for the majority of January and February, Brighton may be in the relegation zone rather than three points above it.
On the other hand, Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers will be without the services of seven players, but he knows his side must still soldier on. Some could argue that Leicester is a side that has been overachieving most of the season, but now they are winless in their last three across all competitions. The Foxes have recently fallen 2-0 to Slavia Prague in Europa League, 3-1 to Arsenal in the league, and had to settle for a 1-1 draw at Burnley.
Still third in the table, they’re not losing too much ground on second place Man United, who simply just can’t score right now. However, there are four clubs: West Ham United, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Everton, who are within striking distance. However, Rodgers remains confident the available squad members would fight hard to maintain the club's battle for European football next season. Another concern is perhaps the form of Jamie Vardy, who has struggled for goals since his hernia operation in January.

Brighton meet Leicester having not previously won in all seven of their Premier League meetings with the Foxes (D2 L5), also failing to score on five occasions in this run. Leicester have faced Brighton without ever losing more than they have any other side in the Premier League (7 – W5 D2) and have already beaten Brighton twice this season (3-0 in Premier League, 1-0 in FA Cup).
The Premier League's best away side and the joint-worst home side, collide on Saturday night, and there should only be one winner. Leicester's injury woes continue to give selection dilemmas for Rodgers, but they will be aiming for an immediate return to winning ways against a shell-shocked Brighton.
We expect a tight contest, where a narrow win for Leicester is the likeliest outcome, but we’ll settle for both teams finding a net.
