2 - 3
Brighton host Manchester United at The Amex Stadium on Saturday, September 26 and the match kicks off at 12.30pm (UK).
MATCH PREVIEW
After they lost on the opening day against Chelsea, Brighton bounced back with two consecutive victories, against League One side Portsmouth in the second round of Carabao Cup and away at Newcastle last Sunday. Their improvement has been massive, as they have scored seven goals in those two games without conceding any.
As for their Saturday's opponents, Manchester United travel to Brighton on the back of their opening defeat to Crystal Palace (1-3) after a hugely disappointing performance on their home debut. They have never won more than five opening games in a row and we are yet to see if this was just a blip and one for the stats, or a worrying sign that something is seriously wrong at the beginning of the new campaign.
MATCH ANALYSIS
Neal Maupay scored a brace as Brighton cruised to a comfortable Premier League victory over an under par Newcastle at St James' Park. It was a superb all-round showing from the Seagulls and the perfect response to losing their opening game to Chelsea. They were well-organized, well-drilled and played with confidence. Apart from Maupay, their new young full-back Lamptey and Ben White, were stand-out performers as well.
They have pace and energy in their team and when you look back at their performance against Chelsea, it really wasn't that bad despite the score. One of the few drawbacks against Newcastle was Bissouma's unfortunate red card and it will be too harsh if the three-match ban isn't overturned. Another positive is having Adam Lallana on the bench as his injury on the opening day was only a knock.
United though, were poor all over the pitch Against Palace. They were ineffective up-front, midfield wasn't creative and were unorganized defensively. It can be put to a very short pre-season, but the cracks were there for all to see. They will be sharper as games progress for sure, but they do would not want to play catch-up for too long. Reinvigorated Brighton side will be a good test of their intentions on Saturday.
Another question that frequently pops up at the beginning of the season, is their lack of depth. They have invested heavily over the years, but it seems like that have decided on a more sustainable approach this time. For it to bear fruit, it will probably take some time and it is doubtful whether they have Solskjaer in mind for such a project. They were intent on signing Sancho, but the transfer now seem stuck. Meanwhile, they need to do the talking on the pitch, and the match against the Seagulls will be the first opportunity to do so.

Looking back over the last decade, the two sides have played 6 times. The Seagulls have won 2 and the Red Devils have won 4 , while none ended in a draw.
Brighton have kept 4 clean sheets in their last 20 home games and the visitors have failed to score in 6 of their last 20 away league games.
Brighton's home games have seen 50% of their home matches ending with both teams scoring (W2-D2-L6), and Manchester United's percentage of their away games finishing with both teams scoring is little lower at 40% (W2-D0-L6)
Finally, when these sides have faced each other, there has been an average of 2.67 goals per game. Out of these, Brighton have scored an average of 1.0 goals, while Manchester United have averaged 1.7.
As for my prediction, on both teams have something to prove, so it will be Both teams to score.

Wyatt grew up in the suburbs of London and he is a big Chelsea fan. As a young boy, he found his love for football, which became an obsession, but when he tried playing it he soon realized that he just wasn't talented enough. Bearing that in mind, Wyatt decided to learn everything there is to know about all the teams and players, with special focus on Premier League and Championship . Wyatt has a big affection for Championship and he is well versed in all the teams and knows their advantages and weak spots very well.
