BRIGHTON VS SOUTHAMPTON MATCH ANALYSIS
The Seagulls are on a little three-game unbeaten run in the top division. They managed to get only a goalless draw from the Burnley game, but they have topped it with a second away league win against Aston Villa (1-2) in Birmingham. Lastly, they drew against defending champions Liverpool (1-1), which was their fourth draw in the last six games. That has been good enough for 16th place in the standings with 10 points. As for the visitors, they have completely turned their fortunes around since the beginning of the season, and have gone on a seven-game unbeaten run (W5-D2) before they lost to Man Utd last week (2-3). They were impressive in their last two wins against Villa (3-4) and Newcastle (2-0), and were unfortunate not to come away with a win against Wolves (1-1), but they let the Man Utd match slip out of their hands as they squandered a two-goal lead. As a result, they are sitting in 6th with 17 points.
The Seagulls were always going to struggle this season. Apart from Maupay, their new young full-back Lamptey and centre-back Ben White, who have been stand-out performers so far, there are not too many positives for Graham Potter. All that could change as the Seagulls showed real character in their last league match, with the team coming from behind to share the spoils with title-holders Liverpool, and, no doubt, they are high on confidence ahead of the visit of Southampton.
Against the Reds, Brighton was made to pay for their profligacy but rescued a late point courtesy of a controversial penalty in second-half injury time. Only Liverpool, Leeds, and Man City have had more shots than the Seagulls' 123 this season, but despite that, they sit just two places outside the relegation zone. Nobody could really argue they fully merited a point against the champions. However, even though the Seagulls have won twice this season, they are yet to secure all three points in a home match in 2020/21.
The Saints, on the other hand, look different now, a more organized side than they seemed after back-to-back defeats at the start of the campaign. With the squad that includes in-form Stephens, James Ward-Prowse, Armstrong, and Ings, they have a strong core of the team, who shouldn't be in a similar situation to last year. They were frustrated to lose the lead and to settle for a point against Wolves, and to repeat the same mistakes against the Red Devils last weekend, but the performances against both sides bode well for the rest of the campaign.
As for their match against Man Utd, Southampton threw away a two-goal lead late on to lose 3-2 to Manchester United at St. Mary's. The defeat will really sting after it seemed like they had Manchester United where they wanted them at half-time. It also ended their seven-match unbeaten run, though Saints come into Monday's meeting on a four-match away unbeaten streak.

Brighton are winless in their six Premier League meetings with Southampton (D4 L2), conceding at least once in all six of these games. Though tough to beat in recent weeks, Brighton are nonetheless one of just two teams still winless at home ahead of this round (D3, L2) - but they are at least trending right, going unbeaten in three.
Interestingly, Southampton are winless in their last 14 Premier League games played on a Monday (D7 L7), but it should be noted that the Saints have scored in their last nine in the league, with only Liverpool (16) on a longer current run.
BettingKick’s prediction for the Brighton vs Southampton match is: Both teams to score

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
