BRIGHTON VS TOTTENHAM MATCH ANALYSIS
Brighton come into this match after back-to-back wins against Leeds at the Elland Road and Blackpool in the FA Cup and a goalless draw at home against fellow-strugglers Fulham in the league. The first win meant that the Seagulls ended their nine-game run without a win in the league (D5, L4) and the second one meant a place in the FA Cup last 16. After the latest draw in the PL, the Seagulls are five points above the bottom-three in the and their recent performances suggest they are out of a slump. As for Tottenham, Liverpool inflicted them the first defeat in eight matches in all competitions (W6, D2), but they still remain firm on course for the top-four, sitting in 6th ahead of Sunday.
Brighton secured a solitary but vital PL point in midweek, which have opened up a five-point gap from the bottom three as we reach the halfway mark of the campaign. There is another important league match against Tottenham coming up at the weekend for them and the boss Graham Potter’s Seagulls are looking for their first home Premier League win in 15, as securing the top-flight survival remains a priority.
The fixture against Fulham in midweek represented an opportunity to put a major dent in visitors’ hopes of Premier League survival while enhancing their own by establishing a seven-point gap to the bottom three. However, once again their lack of prowess in front of goal proved the stumbling block. Lewis Dunk, Leandro Trossard, Adam Webster, and Solly March all had excellent opportunities to score for the hosts who had the better of a hard-fought contest, but, eventually, had to settle with a point.
Tottenham, on the other hand, are doing well, with the team in the Round 5 of the FA Cup, while already in the final of the League Cup, where they will face Manchester City in April. High-flying duo Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son have been absolutely brilliant for the visitors in this campaign so far, hitting teams on the counter and linking up fantastically.
However, Spurs lost striker Harry Kane to an ankle injury at half-time against Liverpool, which only added to their woes as Liverpool moved back into the top four as they discovered their cutting edge in style at the expense of an uninspiring Spurs. Jose Mourinho spent much of the second half bellowing instructions at his Spurs players in an attempt to spark a reaction – but on this evidence, Spurs will struggle to be anywhere near their best without their talisman and leading marksman.

Brighton have lost five of their seven Premier League matches against Spurs (W1 D1), with their only win coming at the Amex Stadium last season. Spurs have won 10 of their 15 top-flight matches against Brighton, including the reverse fixture this season at home on November 1 (2-1).
Graham Potter will be eyeing to end their horrible home record at they now go 14 Premier League home games without a win (D7 L7) – the fact that the visitors, who have lost just one of their last 12 away Premier League games (W6 D5), will look to exploit even without Harry Kane.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
