On the third September in Uefa Nations League European, Bulgaria will host and clash with Ireland on the stadium Vasil Levski.
Ireland has shown a fighting spirit in Euro 2020 qualifying, but never enough to catch others. Their match against Bulgaria gives manager Mick McCarthy the chance to rotate his squad and give some of his fringe players the opportunity to showcase themselves on Tuesday night. Bulgaria on the other hand has a good record against Ireland with two wins, four draws, and three losses from nine all-time games. Ireland won their last match in 2019.
Bulgaria's squad is mostly made up of players competing in eastern Europe. Captain Ivelin Popov is the team's highest-profile player as he competes in Russia for Rostov. Popov has scored 15 international goals in 84 appearances. But McCarthy praised his players' "never die attitude" so it is a perfect match to go against hard eastern European players and not to quit until the break of theirs defense.

Ireland is not a high-scoring team. Just one of their last 10 matches saw the Irish score over 1.5 goals. McCarthy's team is more of a defensive team and struggles in the final third.
They are coming off of a big draw against Switzerland and won against Bulgaria in the last match, and the mental and physical toll could show against Bulgaria in an international friendly.
McCarthy could rotate his team and rest players before they return to their club teams. It should give the manager the chance to see some of the players that didn't feature against the Swiss. Ireland should get a home victory and continue their good form under McCarthy.
We predict a win for Ireland but under 2 goals.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
