With 12 matches remaining, the Clarets sit 15th in the table on 28 points after Sean Dyche's side lost their last Premier League match 4-0 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, breaking a four-match unbeaten streak (W1, D3). The Lancashire outfit have looked like their old selves in recent months and will provide Leicester with a stern test under Wednesday night lights. On the other hand, Leicester rounded a disappointing week off with a 3-1 loss to Arsenal at home, which followed their shocking exit out of Europa League after a 2-0 home defeat to Slavia Praha last Thursday. The Foxes remain in 3rd in the standings and are on course for a top-four finish, but they need the three points here to get back on the track.
Burnley were unbeaten in four straight league matches prior to their trip to London, but they have been dreadful for at least a couple of weeks now. Moreover, injuries are piling up again, with Jay Rodriguez becoming the latest worry after going off midway through the second half against West Brom with a calf complaint. The Clarets hoped to get a much-needed cushion over the relegation zone with at least a point here but were comprehensively beaten.
Gareth Bale scored a brace as Jose Mourinho's side returned to winning ways in the Premier League while Burnley's buffer over the relegation zone was reduced to five points following Fulham's draw against Crystal Palace. Sean Dyche's gameplan was disintegrated within 68 seconds of the first whistle after Bale converted from close-range and Burnley's afternoon only deteriorated from there as Spurs dominated proceedings.
After a setback at the weekend, Brendan Rodgers was left ruing his side's luck, as Harvey Barnes and Jonny Evans became the latest Leicester players added to the club's injury list, joining Wesley Fofana, James Maddison, James Justin, Dennis Praet and Ayoze Perez on the sidelines. He was confident the available squad members would battle hard to maintain the club's battle for European football. Of as much concern is perhaps the form of Jamie Vardy, who has struggled for goals since his hernia operation in January.
After their dismal exit from Europe on Thursday, their performance against Arsenal was riddled with fatigue and lacking intensity, with a deeply concerning injury for winger Harvey Barnes early in the second half. He was stretchered off with a knee injury and minutes later Arsenal added their third goal to effectively claim the three points. While Arsenal were resurgent, this was a worrying afternoon for Rodgers and Leicester and with eight players now out, Rodgers may have to find different ways to pick up wins over the final dozen games of the Premier League campaign.

Burnley meet Leicester having previously won three of their last four home league games against the Foxes (L1), more than they had in their previous 13 against them at Turf Moor (W2 D3 L8). On the other hand, Leicester are looking to complete their first ever top-flight double over Burnley, after a 4-2 win at the King Power Stadium in the reverse fixture in September.
The last time Dyche's men lost by more than a four-goal margin was against Man City in November and the Clarets subsequently went on a four-game unbeaten streak after. Despite a series of tough fixtures on the horizon for Burnley, Sean Dyche will anticipate a response.
Meanwhile, the physical strain of this unique season is beginning to take its toll on Leicester, who look worryingly threadbare. With James Maddison, one of many key men absent, Leicester need Vardy to improve quickly his current record of one goal in 12 matches.
