Burnley host Man City at the Turf Moor (Burnley) in the 22nd round of the Premier League and the match kicks off at 6 pm (UK) on Wednesday, February 3.
BURNLEY VS MAN CITY MATCH ANALYSIS
The hosts come into this match on the back of three wins - a historical 1-0 win against the defending champions Liverpool at Anfield, a 0-3 win against Fulham in the Round 4 of the FA Cup, and a dramatic 3-2 victory against Aston Villa – and a 2-0 defeat at Chelsea. They are now in 16th place and are huge eight points away from the bottom-three. As for Man City, their most recent matches saw them reach the finals of the League Cup, progress to the Round 5 of the FA Cup, and beat the next four league matches, without conceding once and netting 14 goals in the process. They have overtaken their local rivals Man Utd at the top, and, with a game in hand, could even widen the gap between them and the chasing pack.
Judging just by the names in this fixture one would think that the Man City are a team to bet on in this fixture, but as it is, Burnley’s recent upturn in form has been nothing short of impressive, as well. The Clarets have been rejuvenated since dealing Liverpool their first home league defeat since April 2017. Sean Dyche’s side have also progressed to the Round 5 of the FA Cup, doing so against the Cottagers, and, notwithstanding their most recent loss to Chelsea, those victories will be a huge boost ahead of their clash with Man City.
As for their trip to Stamford Bridge, they were below-par in all honesty, as they did not have an answer once they got behind. They were also not helped by the withdrawal through injury of leading scorer Chris Wood just after the hour. However, successive wins - at Anfield and a to Aston Villa - lifted Burnley eight points clear of the relegation zone and suggest this meek display should be a one-off. That is, providing Wood doesn’t face a lengthy absence as the Clarets remain the second-lowest scorers in the division.
Man City, on the other hand, are back on the winning ways - it was after their impressive victory at Chelsea on 3 January that Pep Guardiola declared this. Exactly a month since has reinforced that view, with Man City winning their last eight Premier League matches to move up to the top of the table ahead of the midweek’s action. Guardiola's men were as low as 15th at one stage in the campaign, yet they suddenly find themselves with the title race effectively in their hands.
Against Sheffield Utd, who famously beat Man Utd to hand City the pole position, City saw off the Blades with a club-record 12th successive victory. Apart from goalscoring, their defensive strength was again on show. Guardiola's side have now kept five clean sheets in a row in the top-flight, and in an impressive 11 out of 13. Also, For Guardiola, this was a staggering 500th win of his managerial career.

This will be a duel of two in-form teams in totally different positions in the league – think David and Goliath. Burnley have won 4 of their last five (L1) home fixtures, while City are five out of five. The difference in league positions is telling if you look at the goals scored in that time – Man City (17) have scored more than twice as many as Burnley (7).
The difference in class is even bigger if you take a look at their head-to-head matches where City have 15 wins to Burnley’s measly 1 in the last twenty meetings. City are huge favourites on Wednesday night, but Burnley can prove a tough nut to crack with Ben Mee at the centre of defense being pivotal in their recent revival.
BettingKick’s Burnley vs Man City prediction is: Man City win

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
