Burnley host West Brom at the Turf Moor (Burnley) in the 25th round of the Premier League and the match kicks off at 3 pm (UK) on Saturday, February 20. Read our reasons for Burnley vs West Brom prediction and betting tips.
Burnley come into this match on the back of a convincing 3-0 league win at Crystal Palace and a 1-1 draw against relegation candidates, Fulham, after being on a four-game run without a win in their past four fixtures in all competition. Consequently, Burnley are 15th in the standings, still eight big points away from the bottom-three. On the other hand, the Baggies face a huge uphill battle in their bid to avoid relegation and are looking to follow up their shock point against Man United with another positive result against Sean Dyche’s side. Sam Allardyce's side are second from the bottom, twelve points adrift of safety heading into Saturday.
Burnley have recently seen an upturn in form as the Clarets gained momentum ever since dealing Liverpool their first home league defeat since April 2017. Notwithstanding their most recent loss to Chelsea and leaders Man City, winning four in seven matches in all competitions should be a huge lift ahead of their clash with another Premier league strugglers, West Brom. Burnley are the polar opposite of a one-man team, and what they lack in high-profile superstars, they make up for with discipline, tactical acumen, and efficiency.
Burnley are the happier after sharing the points with the Cottagers on Tuesday night maintained their eight-point cushion over the bottom three. On the night, they came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw with relegation-threatened Fulham at Turf Moor. The biggest positive for Burnley will be that their advantage over the Cottagers remains the same as it was before kick-off. With the likes of Newcastle and Palace in far worse form than they are and Brighton a point worse off, they will feel relatively calm about their situation.
Meanwhile, West Brom still haven’t fully convinced in their ability to continue climbing up the standings after they held the in-form Man Utd for a draw. Albion had conceded 134 goals in their past six Premier League games and are without a win in 14 from 15 in all competitions (D5, L9). The leakiest back four in the Premier League have now shipped 55 goals and scored only 19 – only their Saturday’s hosts (17) and bottom Sheffield Utd (15) scored less.
Time is rapidly running out for fireman Sam Allardyce to work his magic and help West Brom beat the drop. Last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Man United was the first time West Brom have conceded fewer than two goals in their last 10 matches, since drawing 1-1 with Liverpool over Christmas. Allardyce had a full week to prepare for the Red Devils, and that could be a factor once again this weekend.

Burnley meet West Brom having won just one of their seven Premier League meetings with the Baggies (D3 L3), winning 2-1 at the Hawthorns in March 2018. The visitors have twice as many wins (10) than Burnley (5) in their last 20 meetings, and the last time out both teams failed to find the net in a goalless draw in the reverse fixture at the Hawthorns in October.
These two sides don’t have too many positive records to brag about this season - there have been just 22 goals scored at Turf Moor this season, the fewest at any top-flight ground, while West Brom have conceded 55 goals in just 24 Premier League games this season, more than any other side across Europe’s top-five leagues.
