Burnley host West Ham at Turf Moor (Burnley) in the 34th round of the Premier League and the match kicks off at 8.15 pm (UK) on Monday, May 3. Read our reasons for Burnley vs West Ham prediction and betting tips.
Sean Dyche’s Burnley ended their three-game losing streak with a 4-0 away win to Wolves last time out, thus alleviating doubt over their survival for another season. No one would have ever predicted such commanding performance at The Molineux, let alone off the back of losing three games on the bounce. Sean Dyche's side snapped their poor run of results in stunning style to move nine points clear of the bottom three. Meanwhile, visiting West Ham’stop-four dreams were dealt a hammer blow last time out and as such, victory here is imperative with their Champions League qualification dream starting to fade. A 1-0 defeat to Chelsea left them three points adrift and the gap will likely be even bigger by the time they face Burnley on Monday.
Currently on their longest winless top-flight home run since 1971 (D5, L2), Burnley look to stop the rot here, though to their credit the ‘Clarets’ came from behind in three of five stalemates in that sequence. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Turf Moor is also the least entertaining ground based on average total goals per game ahead of the round (1.94). Boss Sean Dyche insists Burnley are not yet safe from relegation but their biggest win in the top flight since 1965 could mean they already have enough points on the board.
The Clarets went goal crazy last weekend, as they secured a very rare 4-0 win against Wolves. Chris Wood’s form throughout the season has been strong, which was on display here as he scored a first half hat-trick in the Midlands last weekend. The victory has lifted Burnley up to 14th in the league standings, and they are now nine points clear of the relegation places. Another victory this weekend could see them rise further up the league standings to 13th.
As for West Ham. The Hammers were in the top four just a couple of weeks ago but now face a massive challenge if they are to end the season in that position. The Hammers have lost their last two league games, and have lost three of their last six. Those defeats have left West Ham three points off the top four. Defeat last weekend against Chelsea has left the Hammers playing catch up in the race for Champions League football.
West Ham were unlucky in that fixture, as they were sent down to ten men after a soft red card to Fabian Balbuena in the final ten minutes. It will be a tense end to the season now, but five wins from five to complete the season could be enough to finish in a European spot, and that will be the aim for David Moyes and his team. United, Man City, Chelsea, and Tottenham have all done the double over Burnley this season and West Ham are now looking to do the same after a 1-0 win when the teams met in January.

Burnley meet West Ham having previously won four of their last six against the Hammers (L2), though they did lose the reverse fixture at the London Stadium earlier this season. West Ham are winless in three PL away games against The Clarets (D1 L2), last winning at Turf Moor in May 2017 under Slaven Bilic.
The injuries that have been picked up by West Ham over the past couple of weeks have left them short on numbers. However, Burnley have a dismal record against the top teams this season and we expect the Hammers to get a much-needed win in this fixture.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
