BURNLEY VS WOLVES MATCH ANALYSIS
Burnley come into this game on the back of a gutsy goalless draw against Aston Villa at Villa Park on Thursday. The latest point means that they are in 17th place with 10 points and are out of the relegation zone after a while with a game in hand. On Sunday, they welcome high-flying Wolves, who won 2-1 against top-four contenders, Chelsea, at the Moulinex in midweek, after back-to-back defeats to Liverpool (3-0) and Aston Villa (0-1). Wolves visit Turf Moor being 10th in the standings after picking up 20 points in the league so far.
Sean Dyche has rightly been praised for his leadership at Burnley, with a modestly assembled Clarets squad - having provided a second top-10 finish in five Premier League seasons in 2019/2020. But an already thin squad is at its limits. They have also been very unfortunate with injuries and they still have many important players missing. Dyche had done wonders with the Claret&Blues' modest squad before, so let's not write them off already, especially after their recorded only one defeat in the last six league matches (W2, D3).
In midweek, Aston Villa did everything but score in a thoroughly entertaining goalless stalemate with Burnley as the hosts failed to win for the fourth successive home match. In a pulsating game, Villa had 15 shots in the first half alone and twice hit the woodwork, but resilient Burnley held on for a precious point. Since being hammered 5-0 at Manchester City on 28 November, Sean Dyche's side has held Everton, won at Arsenal, and frustrated Villa, which bodes well ahead of their weekend clash with Wolves.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s men, on the other hand, have been blowing hot and cold recently. After losing key players Matt Doherty and Diogo Jota to other Premier League clubs, it took Wolves a little time for new players to ease in. The loss of Raul Jimenez through head injury is a big blow, but youngsters like Pedro Neto and Podence have established themselves in the first XI. However, Wolves are yet to score more than twice in a Premier League match so far this season, but that was enough to dispatch Chelsea on Tuesday.
Wolves' win against Chelsea in midweek was an important one in proving that they can cope in the absence of Raul Jimenez having struggled for goals for much of the season, so they will approach this match with renewed confidence. Giroud gave the visitors the lead, Daniel Podence equalised in the second-half, and finally, Pedro Neto's 95th-minute strike gave the hosts a dramatic victory at the Molineux.

Burnley have lost just one of their last six home league games against Wolves (W3 D2), while Wolves have won just one of their last eight league clashes against Burnley (D4 L3), way back in 2018.
Since beating Bournemouth 3-0 in February, Burnley have failed to score more than once in any of their last 10 Premier League home games (W2 D4 L4), but they have been more solid defensively with the rekindled partnership of James Tarkowski and Ben Mee.
Wolves have alternated between defeat (4) and victory (3) in their last seven away league games, and their game in midweek showed that there is hope for them even without injured star Jimenez.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
