Cagliari and Benevento both lost on Sunday and are desperate to gain new points to escape from the relegation battle.
Best Cagliari striker Argentinian Giovanni Simeone said his teammates don’t have time to get ‘depressed’ after the 4-1 loss to Napoli and looked forward to having Radja Nainggolan beside him in the squad. Cholo's son spoke to media after the heavy defeat to the Partenopei on Sunday and claimed the Rossoblu knew they would ‘struggle’ if they didn’t play a ‘perfect’ match against a strong side. Joao Pedro pulled one back after 60 minutes, to make it 1-2 at the Sardegna Arena, but the home side wasn’t able to mount a comeback against the Azzurri. Simeone stressed the Sardinians can’t look at the table and must unite to come out of a tough period.
Nainggolan, who spent last season at the Casteddu, with 6 goals and assists apiece in 26 games, has signed a loan deal until June 2021 and returns from Inter. “Radja is a great player and an element of personality,” Simeone said. “He will give us a lot on the pitch and experience in the dressing room.”
The Sardinians will be without the services of Marko Rog, who is out for the season while Diego Godin and Adam Ounas are unavailable. Paolo Faragò and Zito Luvumbo have worked separately from the group in training sessions. Their inclusion in the squad for the midweek game remains in doubt. The hosts have managed to sign midfielder Radja Nainggolan on loan from Inter Milan and he could take part in this match. Charalampos Lykogiannis was booked twice against Napoli and will be suspended for the game.
Cagliari (4-2-3-1): Alessio Cragno; Alessandro Tripaldelli, Luca Ceppitelli, Sebastian Walukiewicz, Gabriele Zappa; Nahitan Nandez, Razvan Marin; Riccardo Sottil, Joao Pedro, Gastón Pereiro; Giovanni Simeone
Coach Pippo Inzaghi called Gigio Donnarumma ‘the best goalkeeper in Europe’ and admits Benevento rue naïve errors in the defeat to 10-man Milan. This was a special game for Inzaghi, who spent most of his playing career with the Rossoneri and also started in management at San Siro. He had little to celebrate this time, as despite being up against 10 men for an hour, Le Streghe was still beaten 2-0.
Benevento had more than 20 attempts, the team gave everything it had because, after such a good performance, you expect a different result. Benevento once again conceded naive goals but this kind of game will help them to mature after being promoted to Serie A. For the visitors, Luca Caldirola, Christian Maggio, Iago Falque, and Nicolas Viola are all expected to miss the trip to Sardinia. Striker Gianluca Caprari missed a penalty in the last game and could be dropped to the bench here.
Benevento (4-3-2-1): Lorenzo Montipo; Federico Barba, Daam Foulon, Kamil Glik, Gaetano Letizia; Riccardo Improta, Pasquale Schiattarella, Perparim Hetemaj; Roberto Insigne, Marco Sau; Gianluca Lapadula

Cagliari’s Sunday’s defeat stretched their winless run in Serie A to eight games. It is time to break the bad luck and have something from the Nainggolan effect so a home win is our favorable betting option.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
