2 - 2
A single point separates Cagliari from newly-promoted Spezia ahead of their meeting at the Sardegna Arena on Sunday.
Eusebio Di Francesco’s men beat Hellas Verona 2-1 in the Coppa Italia on Wednesday and aim to bounce back from a defeat to Juventus in the League. The Casteddu sit 10th in Serie A but must cope without Nahitan Nandez, Diego Godin, and Giovanni Simeone. The latter seems set to be replaced by Leonardo Pavoletti in Serie A Week 9. Cagliari has only kept one clean sheet in their last seven league games, conceding at least two goals in the other six.
Cristiano Ronaldo was the star of the show, netting both goals as Juventus saw off Cagliari 2-0, while Merih Demiral also hit the crossbar. CR7 took center-stage in his first game at the Allianz Juventus Stadium since the opening round of the season against Sampdoria. First, he cut inside to blast into the far bottom corner with his right foot, then he showed quick improvisational skills to hook in a corner that had been deflected behind him. Federico Bernardeschi and Ragnar Klavan had also found the back of the net, but both were ruled offside due to teammates in the build-up.
Cagliari (4-2-3-1): Cragno; Zappa, Walukiewicz, Klavan, Tripaldelli; Marin, Rog; Ounas, Joao Pedro, Sottil; Pavoletti
Suspended: none
Injured: Nandez, Ciocci, Luvumbo, Lykogiannis, Godin, Ceppitelli, Simeone
Spezia has a long list of absentees themselves, but propose a big threat to Cagliari, having only lost once in their last five League games. Since the 4-1 defeat to Juventus, the newly-promoted side has picked up four points in two games, including a 0-0 draw with Atalanta last time. The guests could potentially leapfrog Cagliari in the table and climb into the top 10 in Serie A with a win this weekend.
Atalanta had the best scoring opportunities, forcing several Ivan Provedel saves and seeing a goal disallowed, while both teams hit the upright. It ended 0-0 at the Orogel Stadium in Cesena, but it was by no means a game short on incident. Spezia came flying out the blocks and rattled the woodwork in the opening minutes with Diego Farias, followed by Duvan Zapata at the other end. Robin Gosens did get the ball in the net but was denied by Duvan Zapata’s shoulder in an offside position. Provedel did the rest with heroics in the Spezia goal, particularly during the closing stages of the match.
Spezia (4-3-3): Provedel; Mattiello, Terzi, Erlic, Bastoni; Acampora, Maggiore, Ricci; Farias, Nzola, Gyasi
Suspended: none
Injured: Zoet, Ramos, Dell’Orco, Galabinov, Verde, Leo Sena

Cagliari should be the favorite to win this game despite several injuries but Spezia has a lot of speed for counterattacking football and should provide serious treats for the home team goal. Both teams to score is the most reasonable bet.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
