Cardiff host Bristol at Cardiff City Stadium (Cardiff) in the 11th round of the Championship on Friday, November 6 and the match kicks off at 6pm (UK).
CARDIFF VS BRISTOL MATCH ANALYSIS
After picking up two wins in their first five league matches, Cardiff have gone on a winless run of four games (D3-L1), which ended on Tuesday as they defeated Barnsley comfortably at home (3-0).It lifted them up the table to 10th with 13 points ahead of another home fixture against Bristol. The Robins have had a perfect start to the season having won their first four matches. However, It seems like their legs got tired after that as they recorded only 2 points from their next 5 matches (D2-L3). Coincidentally, just like their Friday’s hosts, they ended their winless run on Tuesday night too. They defeated Huddersfield to climb to 6th with 17 points as they travel to Wales next.
Cardiff City boss Neil Harris said the Bluebirds have made a disappointing start to their Championship campaign after they conceded late to lose 3-2 at Queens Park Rangers in the 9th round. The Bluebirds form has been up and down since the start of the campaign and they might still be suffering the effects of a hangover from last season's play-off defeat to Fulham. Maybe they have lost some of the momentum, but it looks like they might have found it back.
They cruised to a first home victory of the season as Barnsley were beaten for the first time under Valerien Ismael. The Bluebirds came into the contest under pressure to deliver a result having failed to win in their last four matches, but were rarely troubled after Junior Hoilett's close-range finish put them ahead early on. Neill Harris felt that the performance was outstanding afterwards, and was hopeful of another one against Bristol.
As for Bristol, their team looks good on paper and with a relatively easy start to the season and four successive wins, they got the early momentum going. However, that 'streaky' trait of theirs has shown its face again as they have not recorded a win since then and had been on a barren run of five games without a victory (D2-L3) before the midweek win (1-2) against the Terriers.
The Robins came from a goal behind to end their five-game winless run. Bristol struggled to find the equalizer until the 68th-minute introduction of Antoine Semenyo and Jamie Paterson. The former assisted for their first and the latter scored the winner. The result moved Bristol back into the play-off places and halted the Robins' recent slump.

These two teams have met 22 times since 2007 and Cardiff have an upper hand with 13 wins to Bristol’s 5. Last two seasons in the league saw both teams winning twice.
They have averaged a total of 2.64 goals in their head-to-head matches.
After being unremarkable for some time, both teams have found their feet in midweek. Both Cardiff and Bristol are in a similar position to try to challenge for the play-offs again this season. They are looking for some consistency and both teams will want the win as much as the other.
The prediction for Cardiff vs Bristol match is: Over 2.5 goals
