Celtic (4-2-3-1) faces Reykjavik (4-2-3-1) at the Celtic Park in Glasgow in the qualification match of UEFA Champions League 2020/21 on Tuesday 18 August 2020 at 20:45.
After they won their 51st Scottish Premiership in previous season, Celtic is now looking forward to achieve another object, which is, the qualification in UEFA Champions League 2020/21. Hardly someone can stop them, but never say never in football. Anything can happen.
Their task in this match against Icelandic team is quite clear, they simply need to win this one. Their coach, North Irish Neil Lennon is now looking to bring his team between the best European clubs in the most prestigious European competition of all. He knows he can count on all of his players, starting from his prolific midfielders, like Scottish Ryan Christie (11 goals in Scottish Premiership 2019/20) and his two partners, both from Scottland like he is, Callum McGregor (8 goals in Scottish Premiership 2019/20) and James Forrest (10 goals in Scottish Premiership 2019/20) to create some dangerous occasions for their opponents, by giving some good balls to their teammates and, if it's possible, score too.
Celtics's best scorer in previous season, young French forward Odsonne Édouard (20 goals in Scottish Premiership 2019/20) probably will be one of the biggest problems for Reykjavik's defenders.
Reykjavik, just like their opponents, won previous Urvasdelid season for the 27th time in their history. They are now looking to achieve an incredible placement in UEFA Champions League competition for the next season.
Their task in this match against Scottish team is also quite clear, just like their opponents, they simply need to win. There won't be another chance. Their coach Runar Kristinsson belives that his players can do that.
Icelandic coach will mostly count on his prolific midfielder, who also was the best scorer in previous season, Icelandic Pálmi Rafn Pálmason (8 goals in Urvasdelid 2019/20) to scare as much as he can Celtic's defenders, with some good goal occasions, with some assists or even better with some goals. Also legendary Icelandic wing Óskar Örn Hauksson (7 goals in Urvasdelid 2019/20) can be a problem, specially on the right side of the pitch.
Reykjavik’s main forward in previous season, Danish Tobias Thomsen (7 goals in Urvasdelid 2019/20) will also be a big problem for Celitc's defender, so they should better keep their eyes opened on him.
The Icelandic team will travel in Scotland with aim to win and continue their road to achieve a placement in UEFA Champions League 2020/21.
This will be the third time these two teams will face each other. Celitic is leading with 2 victories. Judging by this stats, Celtic is favorite to win this game.

This match should see plenty of goal chances by both sides. Both teams loves to spend most of their time in the attack side, instead of defending. This will be their only chance to reach a placement in the most prestigious European competition, so they will surely spend a lot of time by trying to score.
Having said all that about these two teams, I would rather think that Celtic will win this match.
So my final prediction is: 1 and Over 2.5 goals.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
