Chelsea host Brighton at Stamford Bridge (London) in the 32nd round of the Premier League and the match kicks off at 8 pm (UK) on Tuesday, April 20. Read our reasons for Chelsea vs Brighton prediction and betting tips.
Chelsea booked their FA Cup final spot with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Man City on Saturday. The Blues have lost only two games since Thomas Tuchel took over in January, but lost their last home league match to West Brom. They have also beaten Porto to progress to the Champions League semis, but haven’t secured the 4th spot in the Premier League yet, so are looking for another vital win here. Meanwhile, Brighton have lost one of their last four, winning twice in that period, and now sit seven points clear of the relegation zone. The Seagulls have lost their three league visits to Stamford Bridge, though have picked up 19 of their 33 points on the road.
Chelsea built on reaching the Champions League semis by edging out Man City 1-0 at Wembley to secure a place in the FA Cup decider. Hakim Ziyech gave the London outfit a deserved lead on 55 minutes after being set up by the impressive Timo Werner. Thomas Tuchel’s defence held firm, giving him 14 clean sheets from 19 games in charge. Tuchel was also quick to point out that his team must now focus on two important league matches before facing Real Madrid in Europe, with fellow top-four hopefuls West Ham next up.
As the race for the fourth spot is heating up with just seven games of the season remaining, a second defeat on the bounce could hand the advantage to the sides around the Blues. They’re favoured for victory here though. After trashing the Seagulls 3-0 in the reverse fixture at the Amex Stadium, Chelsea have never been behind in seven Premier League meetings with the Seagulls – only three teams have ever played more against an opponent in the competition without going behind.
As for Brighton, they also still have to play high-flying West Ham, runaway leaders Manchester City and, Arsenal. Only the inability to capitalise in front of goal and convert impressive performances into points has kept Brighton from mid-table security. The Seagulls are certainly playing well enough to steer clear of trouble and this is another chance to close in on safety, but could be only three points above safety if Fulham win at Arsenal on Sunday.
Brighton nudged closer to safety when drawing 0-0 with Everton at Amex Stadium last time out. The Seagulls were the better team on the ball but, as has so often been the case this term, lacked a cutting edge up front. Graham Potter was a little bit frustrated but, overall he can focus on a lot of the good things that his side did. They just lacked a little bit in the final third in terms of decision and execution. This is obviously a much stiffer test, though, and Albion may have to wait for Saturday’s trip to Sheffield Utd to further enhance their survival hopes.

Chelsea meet Brighton unbeaten in their last 14 against the Seagulls, winning 12 and drawing two since losing their first ever meeting with Brighton all the way back in January 1933. Moreover, Brighton have lost all six of their away games against Chelsea in all competitions, with the Seagulls failing to score in all six of their visits to Stamford Bridge against the Blues.
We back the Blues to maintain momentum but don’t rule out Brighton scoring too, so the BettingKick’s Chelsea vs Brighton prediction is: Both teams to score

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
