Chelsea host Man United at the Stamford Bridge (London) in the 26th round of the Premier League and the match kicks off at 4.30 pm (UK) on Sunday, February 28. Read our reasons for Chelsea vs Man United prediction and betting tips.
Chelsea have somehow turned their not-so-promising show at the Premier League and are now currently on and splendid form with four wins and a draw from their last five League matches. They are currently 5th in the standings and are looking set to grab a European Spot at the end of this season. As for Man United, two wins and three draws in the last five league matches have them looking over their shoulders in the 2nd place, 10 points behind local rivals Man City. The title may be too far gone, but the battle for the top-four is raging.
It seems Thomas Tuchel can do no wrong at Chelsea and he will be looking to take a huge stride towards Champions League qualification by dumping Man United in a Premier League blockbuster. The German remains unbeaten after eight games in the Blues dugout, claiming his most impressive win so far with a 1-0 victory over Atletico Madrid in the last 16 of the Champions League on Tuesday. Tuchel is building up quite a head of steam and if he claims the seventh victory against United it will cut the gap on the second-placed Red Devils to just three points.
Chelsea were more superior than the 1-0 scoreline suggests when taking on Atletico in the first leg of their European showdown. Olivier Giroud’s spectacular overhead kick settled the issue, with the evergreen veteran grabbing his sixth goal of the competition. However, it’s hard to get too carried away with Chelsea’s league form since Tuchel replaced Frank Lampard. Workmanlike wins over Burnley, Tottenham, Sheffield, and Newcastle have been book-ended by draws with Wolves and Southampton, so more evidence is needed before hailing the new boss.
Meanwhile, the Old Trafford side are in decent form themselves, unbeaten in eight since a shock 2-1 loss to Sheffield Utd. Too many draws have undermined their title challenge and there was another stalemate on Thursday in their Europa League dead rubber with Sociedad. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men remain inconsistent yet they have the firepower to inflict Tuchel's first defeat if they hit top form at Stamford Bridge.
In the Premier League, the Red Devils have had mixed results in recent weeks, but a 3-1 home win over Newcastle last weekend kept them second in the table, six points ahead of fifth-placed Chelsea. Marcus Rashford’s fine solo strike was quickly canceled out by Allan Saint-Maximin, but Dan James put United back in front and Bruno Fernandes wrapped up victory from the penalty spot. Slipping 10 points adrift of neighbours City at the summit has been frustrating, but Solskjaer would almost certainly settle for another stalemate here.

Chelsea meet Man United after losing the last three home games against Chelsea - in the FA Cup in February 2019, League Cup in October 2019, and Premier League in February 2020 – but have never lost four in a row at Stamford Bridge against the Red Devils. The last time out, the two sides shared the spoils in a goalless draw at Old Trafford back in October.
Even though United are remarkably unbeaten away from home in the Premier League for over a year, you get the sense Chelsea are favourites heading into this one, particularly if Solskjaer is without some key central midfielders.
