CHELSEA VS WEST HAM MATCH ANALYSIS
Chelsea come into this game on the back of the two away defeats - against Everton (1-0) last weekend and Wolves (2-1) on Tuesday at the Moulinex. With the three points Chelsea picked up from their most recent win against Leeds, they are in 7th place with 22 points, six points from the leaders Liverpool. On Monday, they welcome high-flying West Ham, who are right behind Chelsea in 8th place with 21 points after sharing the spoils with Crystal Palace at home. The Hammer can leapfrog the Blues with a win in the London Derby.
Chelsea had been in splendid form prior to the Everton game last weekend. However, their seventeen-game unbeaten run was ended at Goodison Park, and instead of going top of the league, they dropped out of the top-six after a second defeat on the trot against Wolves. The form of Kai Havertz can be a cause for concern, but Giroud is having a renaissance. Lampard’s side has played some brilliant football in recent weeks, and the squad depth is among the best in the league, so we should expect them to bounce back against the Hammers.
After back-to-back defeats, Lampard will consider changes. Neither Kai Havertz nor Timo Werner is performing well, though only the former is likely to be dropped. Frank Lampard said after the Wolves match that his Chelsea players may be suffering from fatigue after the hosts came from behind to beat the Blues in added-time. Frank Lampard hopes to have both Hakim Ziyech and Callum Hudson-Odoi available for Monday's game, but even if they don’t feature, he will surely shuffle his starting eleven.
As for West Ham, the Hammers have had some fantastic results so far. They took a point off Man City at home (1-1 ) and had easily dispatched the likes of Wolves (4-0) and Leicester (0-3). They also drew earlier against the Spurs after an astonishing comeback (3-3). West Londoners have shown they know how to raise the game against top clubs, and even though they struggled against Palace, they will be up for it in the local derby.
As for the midweek game, Christian Benteke, who was later sent off, had put Palace on course for an away win at London Stadium with his third goal in as many games. But the Hammers leveled when Ivory Coast forward Haller showed wonderful technique to send an overhead kick beyond Vicente Guaita. With four wins in their last six (D1, L1), the Hammers are one win from spending Christmas above Chelsea in the table for only the fourth time ever in the PL’s history.

West Ham won home and away against Chelsea in the Premier League last season, and are looking to win three in a row against the Blues. However, before that defeat, Chelsea have not lost their last 13 Premier League home games against West Ham (W9 D4).
Chelsea haven't lost at Stamford Bridge since the opening weekend of the season and will still be considered favourites here, although West ham will believe the repeat of the last season’s result is certainly possible.
BettingKick’s prediction for Chelsea vs West Ham match is: both teams to score
