Coventry host Bournemouth on the match-day four of the Championship at St.Andrew's stadium (Birmingham) on Friday, October 2 and the match kicks off at 7.45pm (UK).
MATCH PREVIEW
These two teams shared divisions only once, during season 2012/2013 in League One. They met twice during that campaign and Coventry won on both occasions without conceding a goal. Fast forward to 2020/2021 campaign where Coventry have picked-up four points so far and sit 12th in the table, while Bournemouth have two wins and a draw, and are in the 4th place with 7 points. Coventry will hope for a second win on the trot, while Bournemouth will look to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.
MATCH ANALYSIS
After a defeat on the opening day against Bristol City (2-1), Coventry got their first victory on the return to the second tier of English football against QPR on their home debut (3-2). The Sky Blues came from behind, and then showed good fighting spirit to bounce back again after conceding an equalizer. They kept going and found the winner. They travelled to Barnsley next and were satisfied to settle with a goalless draw. Meanwhile, Coventry City defender Fankaty Dabo, who had a very good first year at the club, has signed a new three-year contract for the Sky Blues.
They have been missing from the Championship for eight years. Mark Robins, in his second stint at the club, did an excellent job of leading the team back to the second-tier, and he did so in style. For them, the biggest objective will be to stay up and anything better than that will be a bonus. They were a bit unfortunate last weekend to only get a point from the Burnsley game, but as long as they are not giving them away, they are headed in the right direction.
As for Bournemoouth, they beat Blackburn on the opening day at home (3-2), then followed it with a frustrating draw against Boro, where they shipped a late goal to lose the whole three points. They had a good game against Manchester City next in the third round of the Carabao Cup despite the defeat (2-1). They put up a good fight and used some of that positivity to beat Norwich at home (1-0) to extend their unbeaten start in the league.
If there was any uncertainty surrounding the Cherries at the start of the new campaign, which made it very difficult to predict how their season will pan out, it seems like it is gone now as Bournemouth have started the season with a little unbeaten run of three games. In any case, it's too early to get carried away, but in any scenario they should at least contest for one of the play-off spots.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
