Coventry host Millwall at the St. Andrew’s Stadium (Birmingham) in the 46th round of the Championship and the match kicks off at 12.30 pm (UK) on Saturday, May 8. Read our reasons for Coventry vs Millwall prediction and betting tips.
Coventry moved up to 17th in the Championship after recording their 13th draw in the club’s penultimate game of the season at Huddersfield. The equaliser put a dampener on the day and as far as Mark Robins was concerned, the manager made a point of stressing it’s something he intends to address in the summer. On the other hand, Millwall ran riot in their last home game of the season as they put four goals past a hapless Bristol. Millwall are up to 11th in Championship standings as they finished off in style at The Den.
Half-time substitute Jordan Shipley gave the Sky Blues a deserved lead in a much-improved showing after the break following a bleak first 45, but City conceded a poor goal from a corner to deny them what would have been only their fifth win on the road. Mark Robins knows next week’s game against Millwall is always, always a tough game, but he would want to finish it off right. It’s Sky Blue’s last game at St Andrew’s until they play Birmingham next season and should look to finish this campaign off with the three points.
Up to 17th and with the possibility of finishing two places higher if they beat Millwall on the last day, depending on results elsewhere, the Sky Blues could end their first campaign back in the second tier as the highest-placed Championship team in the Midlands. Given the disparity in budgets with their ‘local’ rivals, what a story it would be if they managed it. A point at Huddersfield, too, is a measure of how far the club have come bearing in mind the Terriers were dining at the top table of the football pyramid just a few short seasons ago when Coventry had hit rock bottom with relegation to League Two.
As for Millwall, boss Gary Rowett wanted his players to send Lions fans watching at home into the summer in buoyant mood – and his side emphatically delivered in their last game at The Den in 2020-21. Millwall had little to play for against Bristol but won 4-1 to seal a second consecutive top-half finish in the Championship. Rowett praised his side’s attitude as they romped to victory against the Robins, while Jed Wallace, Scott Malone, Billy Mitchell, and Tom Bradshaw scored in the win.
Gary Rowett’s Millwall ended a run of four games without a win, too. Millwall may still claim a second straight top-ten finish with a victory here and considering they registered their joint-highest league victory of the campaign last time out, the visitors will fancy their chances. Additionally, the Lions have gained 17+ more points than in three of their previous five seasons at this stage, but have registered a league-high 17 stalemates.

Coventry meet Millwall on the final day of a Football League season for the first time since May 2003 when the Lions won 2-0 at the Den. Also, after celebrating a 2-1 win at The Den in the reverse fixture earlier on, Coventry are looking to record a league double over Millwall for the second time in the last three seasons. Interestingly, the away team has won four of the last six meetings between Coventry and Millwall (D1, L1), including on the last two occasions the sides have met.
The Sky Blues’ have registered a league-high six goalless home draws and with both teams having not too much to play for, we expect another low-scoring affair.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
