After the international break, the next round in the Seria A will be opened with Crotone vs Lazio match at Stadio Ezio Scida.
Crotone boss Giovanni Stroppa said he was happy as his side managed to keep a clean sheet in the last match in the Seria A. The newly-promoted side held Torino to a 0-0 away draw. Crotone had the better of the first half and tested Salvatore Sirigu, while Torino was denied by the frame of the goal twice after the break. It was at least an end to the run of Toro home defeats, picking up their first point of the season in Turin. The visitors kept the initiative for the first hour, then the Granata emerged from their shells and were unlucky not to find the back of the net. Amin Gojak’s cross-shot bounced off the inside of the far post, then Andrea Belotti couldn’t finish it off from close range.
Crotone has Sebastiano Luperto suspended following his red card in the 0-0 draw with Torino, Salvatore Molina hasn’t yet received the all-clear for his COVID case and Ahmad Benali sprained his ankle. There has been an upturn in performances lately, the Squali drawing with Juventus and Torino, losing narrowly to Cagliari and Atalanta.
The Disciplinary Commission has fined Crotone midfielder Milos Vulic for diving. The sporting judge has handed out a €2,000 fine to Vulic after Serie A Week 7, for ‘pretending to have been subjected to a foul in the opponent’s penalty area’.
Crotone (3-5-2): Cordaz; Magallan, Marrone, Golemic; Pereira, Zanellato, Cigarini, Vulic, Reca; Messias, Simy
Suspended: Luperto
Injured: Riviere, Benali, Molina
Lazio and Felipe Caicedo confirmed their ability to snatch last-gasp points, stalling Juventus after Cristiano Ronaldo thought he’d done enough. The Aquile are the comeback kings of Serie A and last week managed to go from 3-2 to 4-3 at Torino in stoppages. That was sealed by super-sub Caicedo and he was at it again today, coming off the bench to make the most of Joaquin Correa’s assist and stun Wojciech Szczesny. Before that, Cristiano Ronaldo had scored the opener for Juventus and been denied a second by the frame of the goal.
Just as Lazio could get Lucas Leiva and Thomas Strakosha back after COVID, they lose Sergej Milinkovic-Savic for the trip to Crotone. The investigation into what went wrong with the Biancocelesti’s Coronavirus testing continues, but the good news is that Immobile, Leiva, and Strakosha ought to be available again after their quarantine periods came to an end. Milinkovic-Savic contracted the virus while on international duty, so Marco Parolo should step in.
Leiva and Strakosha will be on the roster for the next match but there are reports striker Ciro Immobile is still testing positive and cannot make his comeback yet. He had been due to undergo a health check with the Lega Serie A to confirm his return to action, but it was abruptly canceled. According to several media, it’s because the local health authority swab came back positive. Immobile is reported to be distraught at the outcome, increasingly frustrated that he probably cannot contribute to his team.
Lazio (3-5-2): Reina; Luiz Felipe, Acerbi, Radu; Lazzari, Parolo, Leiva, Luis Alberto, Fares; Immobile, Correa
Suspended: None
Injured: Milinkovic-Savic, Lulic

Crotone made some significant improvements in the last weeks and had 15 days to make some upgrades in training but Lazio had finally time to rest and prepare as they should for the match so they are favorites to win this game.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
