Relegation battle thriller including Crotone and Torino will take the stage on Sunday. Read our reasons for Crotone vs Torino prediction and betting tips.
Serse Cosmi’s Crotone debut did not go to plan with a 5-1 defeat against Atalanta, but he still ‘believes’ they can stay in Serie A. The former Perugia coach was drafted in on Monday following Giovanni Stroppa’s dismissal, and Nwankwo Simy did score a temporary equalizer in Bergamo, but they were soon blown away. “We all knew Atalanta’s quality and strength, I just wanted to understand the situation these players are in and how they handle situations psychologically too,” Cosmi told media. “Aside from the immense talent of those we were up against, tonight I realized we cannot play from here to the end of the season without seven important players. Today we were without Vulic, Molina, Ounas, Di Carmine, and others, many of them missed at the end. These were often starters at Crotone and I wish I could’ve started this experience with a few more options to choose from.”
Crotone is in a desperate situation, rock bottom with seven consecutive defeats. “Of course we still believe, because football allows you to believe. We just have to do everything possible to make the most of the opportunity. In the next game, we need a very different performance.” For Crotone, Koffi Djidji (muscle) Ahmad Benali (thigh), Luca Cigarini (knee), and Milos Vulic (muscle) are all ruled out through injury. Cosmi continued with a 3-5-2 formation in midweek – a system that was used in Stroppa's final game in charge – and he is expected to stick with the same approach this weekend. Forward Simy, who is the club's top goalscorer with eight, including a strike against Atalanta in midweek, is set to lead the line once again with Samuel Di Carmine.
Crotone: Cordaz; Cuomo, Golemic, Luperto; Pereira, Zanellato, Milona, Reca; Messias; Di Carmine, Simy
Torino President Urbano Cairo promised they’ll ‘seek every possible appeal’ if they are given an automatic defeat to Lazio. ‘You can’t ignore reality.’ The game was meant to kick off on Tuesday at 18:30 at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, but the Granata have not traveled because the local health authority (ASL) ordered them to isolate following circa 10 COVID cases between squad and staff. The Lega Serie A met to discuss the situation and decided it would not postpone the match. “You cannot defend the league and its integrity by ignoring objective reality, a reality that says we cannot move, nor leave the city,” Cairo told media. “It’s all so logical that one plus one is two, instead here to reach two, they are going through a thousand steps. The only logical consequence was to postpone the match. Now we await the decision of the sporting justice system. We will seek every possible avenue to appeal.” Torino already had one match postponed due to this outbreak, on Friday against Sassuolo, which has been rescheduled for March 17. That used up their only ‘free pass’ predicted by the Serie A COVID protocol. Had the next fixture been at the weekend, they might’ve had time to get a squad ready, but with a midweek round, it was simply impossible to break the ASL-imposed quarantine and travel to Rome.
Torino's club captain and top goalscorer Andrea Belotti are one of eight players self-isolating along with Daniele Baselli, Bremer, Alessandro Buongiorno, Karol Linetty, Nicola Murru, Nicolas Nkoulou, and Wilfried Singo. Nicola's preparations are not ideal heading into Sunday's match and fielding a competitive starting lineup is likely to be a tall order. If the match does go ahead, midfielder Rolando Mandragora could continue in midfield ahead of Linetty, while striker Simone Zaza will be relied upon to score the goals in the absence of Belotti.
Torino: Sirigu; Izzo, Lyanco, Rodriguez; Vojvoda, Lukic, Mandragora, Rincon, Ansaldi; Bonazzoli, Zaza

Crotone could steal vital points in the relegation battle here, regarding all problems that Torino had in recent week, but based on the individual quality of the players that should be on Davide Nicola's side there is room for doubt that this will be a home win. BettingKick’s Crotone vs Torino prediction is Both teams score.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
