Crystal Palace host Man City at the Selhurst Park (London) in the 34th round of the Premier League and the match kicks off at 12.30 pm (UK) on Saturday, May 1. Read our reasons for Crystal Palace vs Man City prediction and betting tips.
Palace are in the comfortable position of being 11 points clear of safety going into the weekend fixtures with just six games left and are surely safe. Roy Hodgson's side are not exactly in the best of states though with just one win in their last seven games – their home form isn't particularly great either and they are up against the current best team away from home in the league too. Pep Guardiola's side produced an outstanding second-half display at the Parc des Princes to stun PSG and surely now have one foot in the CL Final for the first time. With the return on Tuesday at the Etihad and the league almost in the bag, it's possible City could rotate, but it rarely seems to matter what team they put out such is the wealth of talent at their disposal.
Neither battling relegation nor challenging for European qualification, Crystal Palace’s season is petering out and a 2-1 defeat to Leicester last time out was their third top-flight game without a win (D1, L2). Ominously, ahead of taking on the league leaders, that was their 18th consecutive winless league fixture against a side that started the day in the top six (D5, L13). After a really bright start to the campaign, they've been pretty ordinary for months now and have only won one of their last seven matches ahead of Saturday.
Palace’s job for the season is already complete as their top-flight status is assured for another season, after picking up 38 points from the 31 games that they have played. The former England manager will be targeting a strong finish to the season, as players will be playing for their long-term future at the club. Palace could still target a finish in the top half of the standings, as they are eight points behind Arsenal. However, it seems like a big ask for them to achieve that.
As for runaway leaders, City, England’s fifth-most decorated club following their EFL Cup triumph over Tottenham, are three wins away from a seventh top-flight title and well-placed to reach the Champions League final after a win in Paris midweek. They last lost away in the league as far back as November and it's a juggernaut that appears to be showing no sign of slowing down. Pep’s side have averaged two goals away from home all season and it's hard to see that stopping in Croydon.
It has been an excellent season for Pep Guardiola and his side to this point. They have recently won their first piece of silverware of the season, as they claimed a 1-0 success at Wembley against the Spurs. Citizens needed to ride their luck in that game but were ultimately deserving winners as Aymeric Laporte scored the only goal of the game. City need just two more wins to regain their Premier League title, and victory against Palace on Saturday would put them on course to win the league title against Chelsea in a couple of weeks' time.

Crystal Palace meet Man City having previously lost 13 of their last 17 Premier League meetings with Citizens (W2, D2), failing to score on 10 occasions in that run. 11 points clear of the drop the Eagles should already be safe from the drop and will likely just coast towards the end of the season. Pep Guardiola may use this fixture to rest a number of his first-team stars, as the game against Palace will come in the middle of their semi-final showdown with PSG. However, regardless of the eleven that Guardiola sends out at Selhurst Park, they should have too much quality for Palace.
BettingKick’s Crystal Palace vs Man City prediction is: Man City win

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
