Crystal Palace host West Brom at Selhurst Park (London) in the 28th round of the Premier League and the match kicks off at 3 pm (UK) on Saturday, March 13. Read our reasons for Crystal Palace vs West Brom prediction and betting tips.
Crystal Palace are potentially only two victories from safety, which will be reassuring considering their recent poor form that’s seen Palace pick up just one win from six top-flight matches (W1, D2, L3). Across that period only two sides have scored fewer goals (three), whilst at the other end of the pitch, only defending champions Liverpool conceded more than Palace’s total of ten. On the other hand, West Brom have amassed six points from their last five PL games (W1, D3, L1), whilst also keeping three clean sheets. That’s more points than they gained across their first ten games under Sam Allardyce (W1, D2, L7). However, these improved fixtures have been tight, with West Brom’s previous four league games all producing under 1.5 goals.
Palace had previously pulled nicely clear of the drop zone during a decent run of results. They claimed three wins in five games before drawing with Manchester United and Fulham which was enough to place them in 13th in the standings. Roy Hodgson’s men have done well against teams in the bottom half of the table, beating Sheffield, Wolves, Newcastle and Brighton since the turn of the year. However, the Eagles found an in-form Spurs too strong when going down 4-1 last weekend, but they were level at the break after Christian Benteke canceled out Gareth Bale’s opener.
Benteke’s headed effort ended up one of the few positive moments for the Eagles, but Zaha’s reappearance may prove the best thing to come out of that game. Crystal Palace will hope to have Wilfried Zaha back up to full speed for Saturday’s Premier League clash with West Brom at Selhurst Park. The Eagles’ talismanic front man returned from injury as a half-time substitute at Tottenham last weekend and should be all the better for that blow-out. He scored a brace in December’s 5-1 away win over Albion and a fully-fit Zaha makes prospects for a home victory much greater.
On the other hand, West Brom deserve plenty of credit for the way they have been fighting for survival, losing just one of their last five matches – and that was only a 1-0 defeat by Everton. However, Sunday’s goalless draw with Newcastle at the Hawthorns was the third draw during that period and the Baggies need more than that to avoid the drop. Being held by the injury-hit Magpies left Albion effectively nine points from safety with 10 matches left, due to an awful goal difference.
Sam Allardyce’s Baggies will look to continue their improved form which has seen them lose just one of their last five games when they take on Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon. Freshening things up could breathe new life into a team that now has a solid foundation at the back. Crystal Palace are not the most adventurous team and if the Baggies can show more attacking authority through Diangana and Snodgrass, they should get back to winning ways.

Crystal Palace meet West Brom having previously won three of their last four Premier League meetings with the Baggies (D1). The Eagles won 5-1 at the Hawthorns in the reverse fixture in December and could complete their first-ever top-flight double over West Brom with a win here.
If the Baggies want to escape the relegation they must continue in the same vein as they have done recently - hopefully with more of an end product to point towards. On the other hand, the Eagles haven’t gone four home league games without a goal since their first four of the 2018/19 campaign and with a fully-fit Zaha, we expect them to stop the trend.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
