CRYSTAL PALACE VS WOLVES MATCH ANALYSIS
Earlier in January, the Eagles were knocked out by Wolves (1-0) at the Moulinex from the FA Cup Round 3. That loss started the current three-game run without a win in the league as they shared the points (0-0) at the Emirates, lost comfortably 4-0 at the Etihad, and lastly, lost 3-2 against London rivals, West Ham in midweek. They are 14th in the league and could finish closer to the top-half in the standings with a win here. As for the visitors, the Wolves have now gone seven games without a win (D3, L4) in the Premier League and one could argue that the most recent goalless draw at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea was an improvement on their part. They are sitting in 13th place with 23 points and will look to end the barren run with a win here in order to keep their top-six hopes alive.
Before the Man City game, Hodgson described Palace's situation - 23 points, 11 clear of the bottom three - as somewhat comfortable. However, after losing to Man City and West Ham next, they have now won just one of their last nine league outings. Hodgson will be concerned that his side has now failed to score in 10 of their last 14 away games in the Premier League, but their home form is also nothing to write home about, with 4 points from the last three games at Selhurst Park.
Against the Hammers on Tuesday, Palace took an early lead through their returning talisman Wilfried Zaha, but Moyes' side was soon back on terms and from thereon they dominated the match. Soucek added his second and Craig Dawson netted the third goal with a routine header before Michy Batshuayi's late strike for the hosts took some of the shine off the scoreline but not the result. Palace are still a healthy 11 points clear of danger but have won just one in 10. They are well clear of danger but also far short of challenging the top-six.
Wolves, on the other hand, only got wins in the FA Cup against Crystal Palace and their fourth-round FA Cup win at Chorley from their last nine fixtures in all competitions. Prior to the latest draw, they recorded back-to-back defeats at the Moulinex to Everton and West Brom and will have to do much more than that to keep their season going in the right direction. On the other hand, having their best player out injured has taken its toll as it would for any club. The Mexico international Raul Jimenez’s absence has shown a bluntness in the attack, with youngster Fabio Silva still learning his trade.
Wolves have only won one of their last nine matches (D2, L6). The Midlands club have fallen from seventh to 13th in the table and keeping a clean sheet has also been Wolves' problem - the last time they kept a score to nil in the league was 13 games ago, prior to Wednesday. Nuno says he is very concerned about the situation, but it is unlikely his side will be caught up in a relegation battle.

Crystal Palace have lost their last three matches against Wolves in all competitions, failing to score in each defeat. However, the Eagles have never lost four in a row against Wolves. Meanwhile, Wolves are looking to complete their first league double over Crystal Palace since 2008/09 in the Championship – their game on October 30 ended with a 2-0 Wolves win. The other time they beat the Eagles this season was in the FA Cup at Selhurst Park on January 8 (1-0 ). Roy Hodgson will want revenge for the two losses, while Espirot Nuno Santo will want to end the dry spell in the league.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
