Scandinavian derby, Denmark vs Iceland, could be a very interesting match with both teams having something to prove after recent good results and failures.
Denmark will be looking to make it five victories in a row when they continue their 2020-21 UEFA Nations League campaign at home to Iceland on Sunday night. After their famous 0-1 win against England at Wembley last month, Denmark sits second in Group A2 in the UEFA Nations League on seven points having lost just one of their four group games. They have now won their last four international matches having not conceded a single goal. Denmark clinched another impressive victory in midweek as they trumped Sweden 2-0 in Copenhagen, courtesy of goals from substitutes Jonas Wind and Alexander Bah, and with four wins in a row to look back upon they will be confident heading into this clash against Iceland that is far from their best form.
The Red and Whites will also be present at next summer's European Championships, having finished second behind Switzerland in Group D and could be a team to watch in the competition. Cristian Eriksen is labeled as one of the worst transfers in Inter Milan’s recent history, but he has been performing well for the national team. He scored key goals in victories against Iceland and England.
There are not expected to be many surprises in the Denmark side on Sunday evening, with Eriksen, Yussuf Poulsen, Martin Braithwaite, and Kasper Dolberg all set to feature in attacking positions. Tottenham Hotspur's Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg should again line up alongside Borussia Dortmund's Thomas Delaney in midfield, while Chelsea's Andreas Christensen will continue alongside captain Simon Kjaer in central defense.
Denmark (4-2-3-1): Kasper Schmeichel; Joakim Pedersen, Andreas Christensen, Simon Kjaer, Daniel Wass; Mathias Jensen, Thomas Delaney; Martin Braithwaite, Christian Eriksen, Yussuf Poulsen; Kasper Dolberg
Iceland meanwhile, has struggled terribly in Group A2, losing all four of their games so far, and are already guaranteed to finish bottom of the group. The visitors will also be coming into this game off the back of a grueling European Championship playoff final qualifier against Hungary this past Thursday night. Visitors Iceland have lost all eight of their previous UEFA Nations League matches and have scored just three goals in the process. Their dreams of the Euro 2020 qualification were ended against Hungary in the dying moments of the game when the host made an impressive turnaround with two goals scored in the last three minutes of the game. To make matters worse, they have lost each of their last eight meetings with Denmark and have failed to score in six of those matches.
National coach Hamren is expected to make changes from the side that lost to Hungary on Thursday night. Arnor Ingvi Traustason, Ari Freyr Skulason, and Runar Mar Sigurjonsson could all come into the starting side, although Everton attacker Sigurdsson could retain his spot in the first XI. The visitors also have plenty of options for change in the final third of the field, and Alfred Finnbogason could drop out of the side to allow Kolbeinn Sigthorsson to feature.
Iceland (4-4-2): Hannes Halldorsson; Hordur Magnusson, Ragnar Sigurdsson, Kari Arnason, Victor Palsson; Arnor Traustason, Birkir Bjarnason, Aron Gunnarsson, Johann Gudmundsson; Alfred Finnbogason, Gylfi Sigurdsson

After recent impressive performances, Denmark must be the team to back against the side that has failed to win an important game on Thursday and must be fatigued for this game. The home win is a reasonable option.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
