DERBY VS BARNSLEY MATCH ANALYSIS
Derby will be looking to put an end to their six-matches winless run when they host Barnsley at their Pride Park on Matchday 11. They second from the bottom with 6 points and the Rams just can’t find their best form in the first half of the season (W1,D2,L6). But the good news for the hosts is that veteran Wayne Rooney has overcome his injury and will be able to help the team on Saturday. As for the Tykes, they experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 3-0 loss to Cardiff City in midweek. Barnsley continue with their habit of putting in much better performances at home than on the travels. They are in 18th place in the table with 10 points, but have only picked up two points so far from their five away games so far.
Derby County are yet to win at home this season and are now just one point from the bottom of the table following their 1-0 home loss to QPR. The Rams have won just one game all season and are yet to register a victory at Pride Park. Another loss could see manager Phillip Cocu on the brink of the sack. Losing to one of their relegation rivals would almost certainly leave the the club no other alternatives but to pull the plug on a project with Cocu at the helm.
As for their latest league match on Wednesday, Macaulay Bonne's late goal extended Derby County's winless run. The Rams started on the back foot and created very few clear-cut chances despite all of their possession. With the international break looming, Cocu and his side could really do well to get the result on Saturday to lift the spirits a little with the league on pause.
As for Barnsley, after miraculously escaping the relegation on the final day of the last season, they have started this new campaign in the same vein as they are sitting near the relegation zone. However, there are some encouraging signs. They haven't found the net in the first three games, but have managed to get on the score-sheet in their last six fixtures (W2,D3,L1) before they lost to Cardiff (3-0).
On Tuesday, Cardiff cruised to a first home victory of the season as they gave Barnsley a defeat for the first time under Valerien Ismael. The loss was a first setback for new Tykes boss , who had taken 6 points from his first two games in charge, but now sees his side drop to 18th. However, the way in which they won their previous two matches will give Ismael hope that his side can continue to climb further up the table.

The Rams actually have not lost against the Tykes at Pride Park since September 2009 – eight home games ago. Also, Barnsley’s last win in the league game came in August 2016.
As for their head-to-head clashes, Derby are unbeaten against Barnsley in their last four games, winning three of those.
Neither side are doing handsomely in the league so far, though they have experienced vastly different recent form. Derby have not won in five games and Phillip Cocu while Barnsley have really turned a corner under their new boss.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
