Derby host Norwich at the Pride Park (Derby) in the 41st round of the Championship and the match kicks off at 3 pm (UK) on Saturday, April 10. Read our reasons for Derby vs Norwich prediction and betting tips.
Derby's underwhelming 2020/21 campaign faltered yet again On Easter Monday as they suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Reading in the Championship. Considering that Derby could still potentially be dragged into a relegation dogfight by Rotherham and Sheffield Wed, it is imperative that they bounce back from this defeat when they face leaders Norwich, who will be up for it after emphatically crushing Huddersfield 7-0 on Tuesday night. That win has now extended Canaries’ unbeaten run to 12 games and has helped widen their gap at the top to second-placed Watford to eight points.
The gap between Derby and the Championship's bottom three remained at eight points following their 3-1 defeat at Reading, but, more worryingly, defeat to the Royals at the Madejski Stadium means the Rams have won just one of their last nine games (D3, L5). Reading’s home win might not have surprised many, and yet there was frustration in the Derby camp that they let this Championship clash get away from them. Wayne Rooney described the goals conceded against Reading as "sloppy" and he was right.
Derby have won 11 of their 40 league fixtures and are finding it tough enough to carve out victories without giving opponents a helping hand. Also, injuries are biting deep into Derby's squad which was thin but has become wafer-thin over the past week or so. There are six games left, and the question is can we realistically expect the Rams to play their way out of trouble and without totally relying on others dropping points as well.
Meanwhile, with just six games remaining in the season and a 17-point gap over third-placed Brentford, the Canaries could confirm their return to the Premier League this weekend if Brentford and Swansea fail to pick up points. Norwich have been outstanding in the Championship once again this season sweeping all before them. They have an extremely talented squad for the division and will be hoping a win at out-of-form Derby could secure them their much-anticipated return to the top-flight.
Special mentions for Tuesday’s win will have to go to Argentinian Emiliano Buendia who only needed the opening half of the game to remind everyone just how much of a real deal he is. One goal and a hat-trick of assists for Pukki, Cantwell, and Keiren Dowell were the headline figures from the opening 45 minutes. Buendia was simply marvelous in that opening half devastation that left a shellshocked and bemused Huddersfield Town 5-0 down. The Canaries are firing on all cylinders and should they win the promotion at the weekend, it would be absolutely deserved.

Derby meet Norwich having previously lost only once to the Canaries in the last nine outings (W4, D4). Moreover, they won 1-0 at the Carrow Road in the reverse fixture in October and could do a surprising league double over the likely second-division champions.
However, it’s the current form that counts, and judging by it, Norwich look unstoppable at the moment with 10 wins and 2 draws from the last 12 matches. It will be a bonus for the Rams if they get anything here, though we doubt it.
