Dinamo Zagreb host Tottenham at the Maksimir Stadium (Zagreb) in the second leg of the Round of 16 in the Europa League and the match kicks off at 5.55 pm (UK) on Thursday, March 18. Read our reasons for Dinamo Zagreb vs Tottenham prediction and betting tips.
Dinamo Zagreb bounced back from their 2-0 first leg defeat last week with a resounding 5-0 victory over NK Varazdin. The Croatian side is on a six-game home winning run, so they'll be backing themselves to come back into the tie. Tottenham, meanwhile, fell to a 2-1 defeat in the north London Derby and lost Son Heung-Min to injury in the process. While Spurs' form has been poor on their recent travels, one of their two wins in their last seven on the road came in the Europa League and they should have enough to secure a quarter-final spot, but the hosts won't make it easy for them.
Dinamo Zagreb will believe they still have a chance of going through but they have a lot to do in the Croatian capital. They arrived in north London last week on the back of an eight-game winning run and the night could have taken a different path had Mislav Orsic taken a golden chance presented to him in the opening minute. Kane punished them when he had the opportunity but Zagreb boss Zoran Mamic has not given up hope of a comeback.
Zagreb have kept six successive clean sheets on home soil in all competitions and have lost just one of their last 16 European home games (incl. qualifiers) - a 1-4 defeat to Manchester City in the Champions League group stages in December 2019 (W11, D4). However, they lack the star quality that Spurs possess and could find Mourinho’s men very hard to stop if Kane, Bale, and co. are at their best on Thursday night.
Moreover, winning the Europa League looks even more important for Tottenham after Sunday’s north London derby defeat at Arsenal. Spurs are now six points behind fourth-placed Chelsea, albeit with a game in hand, and cannot afford too many more domestic slip-ups if they are to secure a Champions League place via their Premier League position.
Jose Mourinho was impressed by what he saw of Dinamo last week. The tie is still open and Spurs have to go there and play a serious match because they are not yet in the quarter-finals, which suggests Mourinho will put a strong team out. Keeping things tight at the back is likely to be the game plan and if Harry Kane, whose brace proved decisive in the first leg last week, is on song again, the Spurs are likely to get through.

Dinamo Zagreb meet Tottenham having previously clashed only once in European competitions prior to their match last week - Spurs beat Dinamo 4-0 at home during the group stages of the UEFA Cup in 2008/09.
The Croatian outfit are a strong side and have done well in their recent matches, including the Europa League. However, here they meet a very tough opponent and with Tottenham forwards being in blistering form ahead of this game, their performance will be very crucial.
However, we expect Mourinho to shut up shop so the BettingKick’s Dinamo Zagreb vs Tottenham prediction is: Under 2.5 goals

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
