Dinamo will be looking to continue his incredible form in the Europa League as Villareal travels to Zagreb for the first-leg of their quarter-final clash. Read our reasons for Dinamo Zagreb vs Villareal prediction and betting tips.
Dinamo Zagreb will look to continue from where they left off in the Europa League after their shock of the tournament result against Tottenham Hotspur. The Croatian side welcomed the Spurs to Zagreb chasing a 2-0 deficit from the first-leg, and chase they did, as the underdogs ran out 3-0 victors to leave Jose Mourinho’s men packing for London without a place in the quarter-finals. Mislav Orsic was the hero for Zagreb against Spurs when his hat-tricked stunned Mourinho's men. He hasn't netted since those goals five games ago, but he will be the man to watch in the next match. Dinamo has lost just once in 13 and that was away to Spurs. They have won 11 of those games.
Bruno Petkovic played a key part in the win over Tottenham, but the forward is struggling with a shoulder injury and may be replaced in the side by Mario Gavranovic. Hat-trick hero Orsic is fit to start, though, and will be aiming to build on a return of 12 goals in 26 appearances in major European competition for Zagreb since joining in 2018. Petkovic aside, Zagreb is expected to go with the same lineup and formation as the one used in the second leg against the Spurs.
Dinamo Zagreb: Livakovic; Ristovski, Lauritsen, Theophile-Catherine, Franjic; Majer, Ademi, Jakic; Ivanusec, Gavranovic, Orsic
Villarreal warmed up for their trip to Croatia with a comfortable 3-0 La Liga victory over another Europa League combatant, Granada, pushing their winning streak to five games in the process. Villarreal also has a great defense. They allowed only two goals in the previous five games. Gerard Moreno helped himself to a hat-trick in Saturday’s triumph, and the Spanish international, who has notched four times in his last three European appearances, will be Villarreal’s biggest danger man again on Thursday. Spanish team can reach the semi-finals of the Europa League for the fourth time in their history. Villareal has brushed aside both RB Salzburg and Dynamo Kyiv in the knockout stages of the Europa League in the past few months. Across the two ties, Emery’s men have only conceded two goals, keeping clean sheets in both legs of their tie against Dynamo Kyiv as they cruised to a 4-0 aggregate win.
As for Villarreal, Pervis Estupinan and Vicente Iborra are their only known injury concerns. Juan Foyth, who has been filling in at right-back, will be well-rested after serving a domestic suspension at the weekend. A big call for Emery to make on Thursday night is in goal, where Geronimo Rulli had been preferred before Sergio Asenjo's recall in the last round.
Villarreal: Asenjo; Foyth, Albiol, Torres, Pedraza; Chukwueze, Parejo, Capoue, Trigueros; Alcacer, Moreno

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
