Borussia Dortmund welcome Augsburg to the Allianz Arena on Saturday.
Erling Haaland has been in electric form in recent weeks, even if his team has not. The Norway striker has scored four goals from six games in January alone, but defensive lapses have cost Dortmund valuable points. Edin Terzic's men come into their Matchday 19 meeting with Augsburg outside of the European places for the first time since October, when Lucien Favre was still at the helm. BVB led fellow Borussia Mönchengladbach 2-1 last Friday - thanks to a Haaland brace - but were ultimately beaten 4-2.
With eight of a possible nine points dropped over the last three games, Dortmund are 13 points off Bayern Munich's league-setting pace, and Terzic might be tempted to change things. Jadon Sancho has been on fire, assisting both of Haaland's goals against Gladbach, but Gio Reyna will feel ready for a start again after shaking off a throat infection, especially with Marco Reus struggling for an end product of late. Mateu Morey should continue at right-back with Thomas Meunier struggling with a knee injury. Terzic's hand is forced in central midfield, meanwhile, with Axel Witsel ruled out for the season with a torn Achilles tendon.
Dortmund: Bürki - Morey, Akanji, Hummels, Guerreiro - Can, Delaney - Sancho, Reus (c), Reyna - Haaland
Out: Hazard (thigh), Meunier (knee), Schmelzer (knee), Witsel (Achilles tendon), Zagadou (hamstring)
Doubtful: -
Coach: Edin Terzic
Augsburg is five places behind their hosts in 12th, but Die Fuggerstädter bounce into this game with a spring in their step having snapped a three-game losing streak with a victory over a hitherto impressive Union Berlin last Saturday. Last season's top scorer Florian Niederlechner finally opened his account for the current campaign with a brace in a 2-1 win at the WWK Arena; while Augsburg will also take heed from the reverse fixture, in which Felix Uduokhai and Daniel Caligiuri scored in a 2-0 win.
Coach Heiko Herrlich has moved towards a 3-4-3 formation since that September afternoon, with former England youth international Oxford impressing as one of the three center-backs in recent weeks. Further forward, Ruben Vargas is out with a neck injury, so Niederlechner is likely to have Andre Hahn and Marco Richter for the company in the attack.
Augsburg: Gikiewicz - Oxford, Gouweleeuw (c), Uduokhai - Caligiuri, Strobl, Gruezo, Iago - Hahn, Niederlechner, Richter
Out: Framberger (hamstring)
Doubtful: Vargas (neck)
Coach: Heiko Herrlich

Haaland has scored 27 goals in 28 German top-flight games - a tally that started with a 20-minute hat-trick from the bench against Augsburg who beat them in the first half of the season and Haaland didn’t score. Dortmund is without a victory in the last three games and three points here is an obligation.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
