Erling Haaland is in a high goal-scoring form for Borussia Dortmund, ahead of winless Koln Saturday's trip to the Signal Iduna Park.
Haaland scored for the seventh consecutive match in all competitions on Tuesday as Borussia Dortmund eased to a 3-0 win over Club Brugge in UEFA Champions League Group F. The 20-year-old grabbed a brace, having struck four times in 33 second-half minutes in the 5-2 impressive turnaround of Hertha Berlin last weekend. He's now scored 17 goals in 13 matches in 2020/21, with 10 coming in the Bundesliga. Only Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski has been better at this season (11). Haaland has scored 23 times in his first 22 Bundesliga matches for BVB - nobody in the league's history has ever registered more at the same period.
Sixteen-year-old Youssoufa Moukoko is also expected to be included in the matchday squad after making history as the Bundesliga's youngest player in the German capital, although he will likely make another appearance from the bench given Haaland's form. Jadon Sancho scored one and assisted another against Brugge in a superb individual display, meanwhile.
The England international was rested in Berlin on Matchday 8 but has surely done enough to get inclusion in head coach Lucien Favre's starting line-up for the visit of Koln. BVB does have a crunch Champions League meeting with Lazio just around the corner, so there's every chance the likes of Emre Can, Marco Reus, and Axel Witsel could be rotated back in after beginning the Brugge game on the bench.
Dortmund: Bürki - Meunier, Akanji, Hummels, Guerreiro - Can, Witsel - Sancho, Reus (c), Reyna - Haaland
Out: Reinier (not included), Schmelzer (knee), Zagadou (knee)
Doubtful: -
Coach: Lucien Favre
Second-placed Dortmund's free-scoring is not the only reason Koln should be worried. They have made an alarming start to the new campaign, claiming three points from their first eight assignments, and are currently on a run of 17 top-flight matches without a win dating back to last season. They've scored one more than Dortmund have conceded, whilst conceding 14 at the other end - not helped by the on-going absence of team captain Jonas Hector. The recently retired German international has not played since Matchday 2 due to injury.
Sebastiaan Bornauw and Dimitrios Limnios could come into the starting line-up following last Sunday's 2-1 defeat to Union Berlin, but midfielder Florian Kainz is still out. Depending on results elsewhere, defeat in Dortmund could bring the Cathedral City club to the bottom of the table, with four rounds of fixtures to play before the winter break.
Koln coach Markus Gisdol only won the first of his 11 competitive games against Dortmund (with Hoffenheim in May 2013). Since then he has three draws and seven defeats. Sebastian Andersson is Koln's top scorer this season with two goals; 18-year-old Jan Thielmann has two assists in a side with just eight goals so far in 2020/21. They have conceded a league-high six penalties this season.
Koln: T. Horn (c) - Wolf, Bornauw, Czichos, Katterbach - Skhiri - Limnios, Duda, Özcan, Jakobs - Andersson
Out: Hector (neck), Kainz (knee)
Doubtful: Modeste (back), Schmitz (ankle)
Coach: Markus Gisdol

Dortmund is a heavy favorite to win this game and the unconfident Koln side could be destroyed by high flying Haaland and company. The home team should score multiple times and the Norwegian striker is in a form that guarantees a brace.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
