Erling Haaland should lead Borussia Dortmund's red-hot attack against a razor-sharp RB Leipzig defense featuring Dayot Upamecano when these two provide a DFB Cup final dress rehearsal on Saturday. Read our reasons for Dortmund vs Leipzig prediction and betting tips.
After both sides punched their tickets to the DFB Cup final last weekend, they will now serve up an early preview of what's to come in the 13 May showpiece. An early Gio Reyna brace was followed by goals from Marco Reus, Thorgan Hazard, and then Jude Bellingham - who misses out through suspension - as Dortmund thumped Holstein Keil 5-0 in the semi-finals, but there was bad news from that game as Mateu Morey picked up an injury that looks to have abruptly ended his season. Reus has had a hand in three goals in his last four Bundesliga appearances. He has contributed at least one goal in four of his five meetings with Leipzig.
Reyna registered the first assist of his Bundesliga career against Leipzig on Matchday 33 of last season. The US international has scored four and set up five so far in 2020/21. Haaland was rested but is set to return to the starting XI with his eyes on yet more Bundesliga records after his brace sealed victory over Wolfsburg to keep BVB's top-four hopes alive with a fourth win on the spin. Haaland has hit 25 Bundesliga goals this season at a rate of one every 89 minutes. Jadon Sancho got through his first 90 minutes since returning from injury in the cup win and looks up to speed in time for the final run-in.
Dortmund: Hitz - Piszczek, Akanji, Hummels, Guerreiro - Can, Dahoud - Sancho, Reus (c), Reyna - Haaland
Out: Bellingham (suspended), Morey (knee), Moukoko (shin), Schmelzer (knee), Witsel (Achilles' tendon), Zagadou (knee)
Doubtful: Reyna (calf)
Coach: Edin Terzic
Leipzig's cup victory was less routine - requiring a stoppage-time, extra-time Emil Forsberg goal to secure a second DFB Cup final in their history. It gives Bayern Munich-bound duo Julian Nagelsmann and Dayot Upamecano the opportunity to bow out with a trophy before their moves to the Allianz Arena in the summer. Having secured a top-four spot, Leipzig will have one mind on the cup but they are - mathematically at least - still in the running for the title. Their faint hope of dislodging Bayern in top-spot will evaporate should they be unable to beat Dortmund but victory would reduce the gap to four points at the top of the table, with six to play for before Bayern taking on Borussia Mönchengladbach later in the day. Forsberg and Marcel Sabitzer are Leipzig’s joint top scorers in 2020/21 with seven goals apiece. Leipzig are winless in their last six against Dortmund in the Bundesliga (D2, L4).
Leipzig: Gulacsi - Klostermann, Upamecano, Orban - Mukiele, Sabitzer (c), Kampl, Angelino - Olmo, Haidara - Sörloth
Out: Samardzic (knee)
Doubtful: Adams (back), Nkunku (back), Szoboszlai (groin)
Coach: Julian Nagelsmann

Nagelsmann has only won one of his 10 Bundesliga meetings with Dortmund, whilst in charge of Hoffenheim in May 2018. He has drawn four and lost the other five. BettingKick’s Dortmund vs Leipzig prediction is: Both teams to score.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
