With Erling Haaland sidelined until 2021, Borussia Dortmund captain Marco Reus is set to lead the line at Eintracht Frankfurt where Andre Silva is waiting to boost his goalscoring record on Saturday.
Frankfurt has lost fewer Bundesliga games this season than fourth-placed Dortmund, but find themselves in the lower half of the table after earning six draws in their nine games. Adi Hütter's side has not won since their 3-1 victory against Hoffenheim on Matchday 3, drawing five of the six matches since, including all of the last four. Silva scored twice as Frankfurt came back from 2-0 down to draw 3-3 with Union Berlin last time out, taking his record to 15 since the coronavirus-enforced break in the process - one more than Haaland has scored in that time. Frankfurt’s 3-3 draw with Union was the league-high fifth time this season they have picked up at least a point after going behind (one win, four draws).
Portugal international Silva has scored more goals (15) than Haaland (14) since the Bundesliga resumed after the coronavirus-enforced hiatus. Only Robert Lewandowski (21) has more. Silva should partner Bas Dost in the attack, while Hütter's main dilemma comes in midfield where the fit-again ex-BVB man Sebastian Rode could replace Djibril Sow in the starting XI after coming off the bench for his Swiss teammate late on last weekend. Dost has won more aerial duels (62) than any other player in 2020/21, while Frankfurt has won more (227) than any other side.
Frankfurt: Trapp - Abraham (c), Hinteregger, N'Dicka - Durm, Ilsanker, Rode, Kostic - Kamada - Dost, Silva
Out: Ache (hamstring)
Doubtful: Barkok (not included)
Coach: Adi Hütter
A hamstring tear means that Erling Haaland, who had found the net 10 times in just eight Bundesliga appearances this season, will now not be available to coach Lucien Favre until next year, leaving the Dortmund boss with a significant gap to fill in his team's front line. Reus is the most likely replacement for Haaland if Favre retains a 4-2-3-1, though the ex-Hertha Berlin and Borussia Mönchengladbach coach could opt for a 'false nine' approach that would spread the goalscoring burden between Reus, Thorgan Hazard, and Jadon Sancho. Dortmund has only scored three times in the first half in the Bundesliga this season, but have hit 18 of their 21 goals after the break.
While full-back Thomas Meunier is sidelined by the muscle injury that led to him limping out of the shock defeat to Cologne last weekend, Mats Hummels said his foot injury was sustained in the midweek UEFA Champions League draw with Lazio "didn't look too bad" after a hospital examination. The veteran center-back could feature at the Deutsche Bank Park where Dortmund will hope to bounce back from their shock Matchday 9 loss to Koln, their third of the campaign.
Dortmund: Bürki - Can, Hummels, Akanji - Morey, Bellingham, Witsel, Guerreiro - Sancho, Reus (c), Hazard
Out: Delaney (back), Haaland (muscular), Meunier (calf), Schmelzer (knee)
Doubtful: Reinier (not included), Schulz (knock)
Coach: Lucien Favre

Frankfurt is very prone to defensive errors but has more than good offensive options. Dortmund will need little time to find a new attacking balance without Haaland but they are more than equipped to score against any side. Both teams to score look like a very good bet.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
