Eintracht Frankfurt hosts RB Leipzig at the Deutsche Bank Park on Saturday evening.
Portuguese striker Andre Silva has scored five goals from his first seven matchdays of the current campaign and was also on target in the DFB Cup first round. With a further eight strikes in 10 league matches between May and June, the Portugal international is second only to Robert Lewandowski for most Bundesliga goals in the period since the German top tier led the footballing world out of lockdown.
Silva's most recent league effort sparked a comeback from 2-0 down as Frankfurt held promoted VfB Stuttgart to a 2-2 draw. He also rode to the rescue in stalemates with Arminia Bielefeld and Werder Bremen. The only occasion in which he has failed to score or assist so far this season was the 5-0 defeat at Bayern Munich on Matchday 5. The return of talismanic left-winger Filip Kostic promises further ammunition for Silva and two-goal-two-assist strike partner Bas Dost. Kostic had been out for a month before being given a run-out as a late substitute in Stuttgart but should start for an Eagles side chasing a first win in four matches. Daichi Kamada's three assists could have been significantly higher had more of his 22 passes to a shot or league-high 42 crosses been finished off.
Frankfurt: Trapp - Abraham (c), Hasebe, Hinteregger - Toure, Rode, Ilsanker, Kostic - Kamada - Dost, Silva
Out: Ache (thigh), Younes (not included)
Doubtful: -
Coach: Adi Hütter
Leipzig recently bounced back from successive defeats by beating 2019/20 UEFA Champions League runners-up Paris Saint-Germain and then Freiburg. Julian Nagelsmann's side climbed back up to second in the standings as a result of the latter triumph, just two points behind defending champions Bayern. Manchester City loanee Angelino scored the pick of the bunch in the 3-0 win over Freiburg, the wing-back's stunning free-kick upped his record for the season to a team-leading five goals in all competitions.
He wasn't involved for Spain during the November international break, but compatriot Dani Olmo did feature for La Roja as recently as Tuesday in the UEFA Nations League Group A4 clash with Germany. Nagelsmann has options in the attacking areas, should he choose to rotate, but could be without defensive lynchpin Upamecano. The Frenchman missed the Freiburg game and recent round of international fixtures with a muscular problem but will be given until the last minute to prove his fitness with fellow defenders Marcel Halstenberg and Nordi Mukiele sidelined.
Leipzig is enjoying their best-ever start to a season after seven games played, with five wins, 16 points, and just four goals conceded. Emil Forsberg reached 100 top-flight appearances with Leipzig in last Saturday's 3-0 win over Freiburg.
Leipzig: Gulacsi - Konate, Upamecano, Orban - Haidara, Sabitzer (c), Kampl, Angelino - Olmo, Nkunku - Poulsen
Out: Halstenberg (groin), Hwang (not included), Klostermann (knee), Laimer (knee), Mukiele (thigh)
Doubtful: Henrichs (knee)
Coach: Julian Nagelsmann

Frankfurt has very good offensive ratings but they must clean the mess at the back. Leipzig is well known for their ability to find spaces in the rivals' last line so Frankfurt will have a heavy task to avoid defeat here. An away win should be a good bet.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
