Eibar will arrive at RCDE Stadium on Sunday for the La Liga showdown with the home team Espanyol. Eibar, though, has only picked up two wins from their 16 away league games this season.
Los Armeros have finished 10th, ninth and 12th in their last three campaigns at this level, but there is no question that it has been a tougher season this time around. They are still in a relatively strong position when it comes to avoiding the drop but another defeat this weekend could leave them vulnerable.
Espanyol on the other hand, 1-0 defeat to relegation rivals Leganes at the weekend has all but confirmed their relegation to the Segunda Division as they remain rooted to the bottom of the table. Francisco Rufete's men began the restart in perfect fashion with victory over Alaves - only their fifth in the entire campaign, but Espanyol have been unable to carry that momentum forward and their 26-year stint in the top flight now looks set to come to an end.
Espanyol showed plenty of promise last season as they qualified for the Europa League in seventh place, which was their highest finish since the 2004-05 campaign, but it has been a completely different story this time around and Rufete's side need nothing short of a miracle to preserve their La Liga status, with Los Periquitos currently 11 points behind 17th-placed Eibar - who have a game in hand - with only four games of the season left to play.

Both clubs need a victory desperately if they want to achieve their goals this season, so players will surely play their hearts out to win this game. For Espanyol, is a chance to gain some power in the home field. For Eibar, to make sure of their middle table positions. The numbers tell their own story, and Eibar has been scored against in 5 of their last 6 matches, conceding 7 goals overall.
Defensively, Armeros certainly have room for improvement. Even so, time will tell if that pattern might continue on in this next match. Espanyol manager Francisco Rufete will be thankful to have no fitness concerns to speak of before this match with a fully injury-free squad available to select from. Pol Lozano will not be able to play in this game through being suspended. '
We’re therefore expecting a close game with a draw scoreline at the end of this one, or under 2 goals.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
