Everton host Man City at Goodison Park (Liverpool) in the FA Cup Quarter-finals and the match kicks off at 8 pm (UK) on Saturday, March 20. Read our reasons for Everton vs Man City prediction and betting tips.
All eyes will be on Goodison Park when Everton and Man City face each other in the FA Cup quarter-finals. The Toffees recorded a thrilling 5-4 win over Tottenham in the previous round, but Man City are likely to pose a much bigger threat for Carlo Ancelotti’s troops than their previous rivals. The runaway champions-to-be, on the other hand, look unstoppable in 2021, and it is no wonder they are seen as hot favourites to win the match. Kevin de Bruyne should be recalled to the starting XI after he was rested in the 3-0 Premier League win at Fulham. The Citizens are more of a team than Everton, who experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 2-1 loss to Burnley last time out.
After an impressive run of form featuring three straight clean sheets in succession, Everton have found themselves struggling once again. Injuries and fatigue have caught up with the team and hobbled their chances of reaching Europe next season as two straight losses in the Premier League have ramped up the pressure as the FA Cup quarterfinal looms and Everton’s attention shifts to the domestic cup.
The Blues will face all-conquering City for the second time in the span of just over a month. While the last game was a difficult one for the Toffees, this next one has a chance to be a little better with Carlo Ancelotti finally handed the luxury of some additional time with his squad on the training pitches of Finch Farm. However, Everton have managed just one win in seven matches at Goodison Park since the turn of the year and with Pickford out injured, this game has taken on greater meaning still.
On the other hand, City eased into the Champions League in midweek with the minimum of fuss and the 2-0 win against Borussia Monchengladbach should not have taken too much toll on them. Kevin De Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan struck in the opening 18 minutes of the second leg to put City 4-0 up on aggregate, meaning they could ease off in the second half. The attention now switches to the FA Cup and Pep Guardiola is wary of the threat Everton pose.
Man City now return to Goodison Park in the FA Cup quarter-finals a little more than a month since they enjoyed a 3-1 victory in the Premier League., still remaining in the hunt for silverware in four competitions. In the midst of their best-ever competitive winning run against Everton (W6), Man City are aiming to reach the FA Cup semi-final for a third consecutive season. They’ll be confident of achieving this goal, given their record of ten wins across their previous 12 competition away games (D1, L1).

Everton meet Man City for the first time in the FA Cup since the 1980-81 quarter-final, with the Citizens winning 3-1 in a replay en route to the final. Everton last reached the FA Cup semi-final in the 2015-16 campaign. The Toffees have lost four of their last five FA Cup games against fellow Premier League opponents, though did eliminate Spurs in the last round. Meanwhile, Man City are looking to reach the FA Cup semi-final in three consecutive seasons for the first time since doing so between 1931-32 and 1933-34.
Even if Everton haven’t been struggling at home recently, with Guardiola’s side in such impressive form, it’s hard to imagine the Toffees knocking them out of the cup.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
