West Ham
4 - 1
Everton host West Ham in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup at Goodison (Liverpool) on Wednesday, September 30 and the match kicks off at 7.45pm (UK).
MATCH PREVIEW
Everton comfortably defeated Tottenham on the opening day in London, and then put five behind West Brom next week at home. Their third Premier League win came against Crystal Palace in London, and without any doubt, there is plenty of early optimism at Everton and maybe that can increase after progressing in the cup as well. West Ham are completely different kettle of fish this season, after the way they opened this season A 0-2 home defeat to Newcastle and a 2-1 defeat at the Emirates against Arsenal is hugely disappointing continuation of last season's poor form. Problems off the pitch are also piling up and with all the distractions it will be tough to regroup and refocus in time when they face Everton in the Carabao Cup, where they have recorded their only two wins this season.
MATCH ANALYSIS
This is the first time Everton have won their first five fixtures of a season since 1938 - and the first time they have started a top-flight campaign with three successive victories since 1993-94.Ancelotti admitted after the game that they have the good momentum and that the spirit is there. In a busy time with another game on Wednesday, they have to keep the motivation and ambition if they are to reach little further this year.
On Saturday, Calvert-Lewin continued his scoring and with 5 goals remains a Premier League top-scorer and on Wednesday the put five behind the League One side Fleetwood to progress toi the fourth round where they host the Hammers. and it seems like Ancelotti's class has finally started rubbing off on the team as well. The players came back more ambitious and motivated this season, but the hard work begins now and you can only focus on one game at a time.
As for the Hammers, they are going through the rough patch on and of the pitch. Co-owner David Sullivan has come out and said that the lack of signings is getting more depressing and also hinted at the unrest across the board. West Ham's misery was also compounded by David Moyes, Issa Diop and Josh Cullen testing positive for coronavirus, meaning they won't be available for the next ten days at least.
On the football side of things, after their two consecutive league defeats, they recorded the emphatic 5-1 win in midweek against Hull in the third round of the Carabao Cup. Haller scored twice, and it will be a huge boost for them if the expensive striker, signed last summer, could find the form he was brought in for in the first place. They showed improvement against Arsenal and especially against Wolves at the weekend as well, but can they go on fighting battles on and off the pitch at once and for how long?

And now, for some facts and stats. Looking back over the last decade, the two sides have played 31 times. The Toffees have won 16 and the Hammers have won 5 , while 10 matches ended in a draw. Out of these, they have played once in the EFL Cup, where Everton won, and twice in the FA Cup, where both games ended in a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes.
Everton have kept 8 clean sheets (W7-D1-L0) in those meetings and West Ham have kept their net only twice (W1-D1).
Both teams have scored in 21 out of 31 matches these two teams have played recently. That makes it 67,7% on average. Everton home games have seen 9 of their home matches ending with both teams scoring (W2 -D4-L3), while West Ham have failed to score 6 times (D0-L6) when away to Everton.
Finally, when these sides have faced each other, there has been an average of 2.84 goals per game. Out of these, Everton have scored an average of 1.74 goals, while West Ham have averaged 1.1.
My prediction: Over 2.5 goals

Wyatt grew up in the suburbs of London and he is a big Chelsea fan. As a young boy, he found his love for football, which became an obsession, but when he tried playing it he soon realized that he just wasn't talented enough. Bearing that in mind, Wyatt decided to learn everything there is to know about all the teams and players, with special focus on Premier League and Championship . Wyatt has a big affection for Championship and he is well versed in all the teams and knows their advantages and weak spots very well. He is an economist, and being one makes him good with numbers and also good with the odds. His specialty are BTTS matches.
