It will be a historical meeting on the Groupama Arena on Wednesday when Ferencvaros host Juventus for the first time in the Champions League.
Ferencvaros made a big surprise by joining the elite clubs in the group stage of the UCL, so they are now trying to achieve their first win at this stage of the competition. They are bottom with just a single point from their two games. A battle with Dynamo Kiev for the Europa League knockout stage is their realistic goal and they will probably fight for that spot until the end. They had to play from the first qualifying round to make it through to the group stage for the first time since the 1995/96 season and on the way, they beat Celtic, then defeated Molde in the play-off round on away goals.
They had a rough start to the group with a 5-1 away defeat in Barcelona. Then they got a point on the board with a 2-2 home drawn with Dynamo Kiev. Ferencvaros were in a rough spot last week after conceding two goals in the first half at home against Dynamo Kiev. However, they kept pushing and made a big comeback in the second half. Nguen and Boli scored to secure a big point for this squad. They top the Hungarian league but again drew at the weekend against second-placed Fehervar. They collected 17 out of possible 21 points in the Hungarian NB I league, and form overall is on a decent level.
Ferencvaros manager Sergei Rebrov will have to do without Ammar Ramadan and Andras Csonka going into this game. Ivorian striker Franck Boli has been excellent for the Hungarian champions and will lead the line against Juventus.
Ferencvaros (4-2-3-1): Adam Bogdan; Gergo Lovrencsics, Miha Blazic, Lasha Dvali, Aissa Laidouni; Marcel Heister, Ihor Kharatin; Oleksandr Zubkov, Isael da Silva Barbosa, Myrto Uzuni; Franck Boli
Juventus had a pretty rough start of the season with the new manager Andrea Pirlo. They lost several points in the domestic league, they lost derby match against Barcelona in the Champions League Group G and their performances are not at the required level to be once again a dominant force in the Italian Seria A and title contender in the elite competition.
Juventus began the group with a 2-0 win at Dynamo Kiev with both goals coming from Alvaro Morata. Then they lost 2-0 at home to Barcelona, so at the moment, the logical thing for them is to try to grab second place in the group as soon as possible. Qualifying for the knock-out stages shouldn't be too difficult for them, especially as they still have two home games against Kiev and Ferencvaros to come. The weekend saw them get back in winning ways with a 4-1 win at Spezia with two goals from the returning Cristiano Ronaldo.
Giorgio Chiellini had resumed full training and is in contention for a spot in the Juventus squad for this game. Fellow defenders Matthijs de Ligt and Alex Sandro have also made progress with their recoveries but remain doubts for this game.
Juventus (4-4-2): Wojciech Szczesny; Danilo, Leonardo Bonucci, Merih Demiral, Juan Cuadrado; Aaron Ramsey, Rodrigo Bentancur, Adrien Rabiot, Federico Chiesa; Cristiano Ronaldo, Paulo Dybala

Ferencvaros has nothing to lose playing in the UCL and they went out on the pitch with the max focus in these games, they are very dangerous in those circumstances, and scoring three goals in the two games show that. Juventus is famous for winning this kind of game with total control from start to finish but with an enthusiastic approach from the home team, this could be both teams to score type of the match.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
