Finland meet Belgium at the Gazprom Arena (Saint Petersburg) in the EURO 2020 Group B Round 3 match and the game kicks off at 8 pm (UK) on Monday, June 21. Read our reason for Finland vs Belgium prediction and betting tips.
ROUTINE WIN FOR RED DEVILS
Belgium need just one more point to confirm their position as group champions, but they will surely go after a win, in order to build momentum for the knockouts. Belgium are the first-ranked team in the world, and are pitted against the squad that are placed 54th in the same list. They are also on a superb run at the moment, and are scoring in plenty. Moreover, several of their key players have returned to active duty, after recovering from injuries, and that has further strengthened an already in-form squad. By all means, Belgians are expected to deliver a winning performance this Monday against the Finns.
FINLAND STILL HAVE THEIR FOOT IN THE DOOR
Finland kicked off with a 1-0 win over Denmark after Christian Eriksen’s dramatic collapse but then went down by the same scoreline versus Russia. Joel Pohjanpalo thought he had scored his second goal of the tournament when heading into the net but was marginally offside. Russia were the better team from there on and Aleksey Miranchuk’s classy left-foot shot on the stroke of half-time proved decisive.
Finland can still qualify and will always give 100 per cent but Russia really should have doubled or even tripled their advantage after the break. Both Russia and Finland have three points after two matches, with the latter having better goal difference. In order for Finland to qualify for the Euro 2020 knockout stages, a loss for Russia against Denmark will be enough, given Finland earns a point or does not suffer a big lose to Belgium which will hurt their goal difference.
TIP #1: Looking at the Finland vs Belgium odds, we reckon Finland to lose by more than one clear goal here is a solid option.
KEVIN DE BRUYNE SHOWS HIS CLASS
After opening up with a 3-0 triumph over Russia, Belgium had to come from behind to beat Denmark 2-1. Sloppy defending allowed Yussuf Poulsen to give the hosts the lead in Copenhagen and the Danes were deservedly in front at the interval. However, Martinez then brought on Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne who helped to turn things around after setting up Thorgan Hazard for a tap-in before firing home the winner himself.
Even if we don’t consider the form of the Belgians, and the struggles of the Finns, the return of De Bruyne and Hazard will massively tip the scales. By all means, expect a win for the first-ranked team in the world this Monday. Do also expect goals in plenty, as Finland are desperate – which their opposite number will take advantage of. Belgium may make changes as they have already qualified for the next round, but they will still have far too much for Finland.
TIP #2: The return of De Bruyne and Witsel could free up Leicester midfielder Youri Tielemans to get forward more and him to score in a Red Devils win is an excellent shout.

Belgium haven’t been totally convincing so far at Euro 2020 but their big guns are beginning to fire and that looks ominous for next opponents Finland. The Finns have shown plenty of spirit and resolve but, as expected, ultimately look in a little too deep at this level. With Roberto Martinez keen to find top gear before the knockout stages, the Red Devils are far too superior for their opponents.
Final BettingKick’s Finland vs Belgium prediction is: Belgium win to nil.
