La Viola's six-goal thrashing by Napoli was not an ideal preview for the relegation battle with Crotone at Stadio Artemio Franchi on Saturday evening.
Club manager Dario Dainelli confirmed Fiorentina entered into a retreat to prepare for the 'very important' match against Crotone. The Viola are struggling to put together a string of positive results and the club manager confirmed the team will enter a retreat after the 6-0 defeat to Napoli. Crotone is bottom of the Serie A table but only six points behind Fiorentina at 14th and arrives after a convincing 4-1 win over Benevento. “The match against Crotone on Saturday will be very important and the players are preparing for it in the best way. After the defeat in Naples, it’s normal that there’s a lot of bitterness in the environment. “We held a series of meetings to get the problems out and find the solutions to get out of this situation.”
With a fully fit squad to choose from, Prandelli could select veteran Martin Caceres as a more solid option at wing-back given the six goals conceded last time out and is also expected to drop Callejon for Erick Pulgar or Borja Valero in order to bolster the midfield.

Giovanni Stroppa said Crotone ‘ needs continuity’ after their 4-1 win against Benevento and claims Junior Messias ‘can play for a big club.’ Crotone sits at the bottom of the Serie A table, but are only two points off the 17th placement. “It’s not easy to maintain self-esteem, but the team is alive. Winger Salvatore Molina has been ruled out until the end of next month with his thigh injury though, as coach Giovanni Stroppa most probably keeps faith in the 3-4-3 setup that played so well versus Benevento.
