Fiorentina coach Beppe Iachini said the Viola took ‘a to step forward’ in Cagliari. ‘It was a tense and tactical game’. The Viola return from Sardinia with one point in the luggage after a 0-0 draw at the Sardegna Arena. Iachini admitted he wanted all the points, but was happy with the performance from his men. “We came here, as always, to score three points,” he said. “In front of us, we had a quality opponent who was playing for important points. It was a tense and tactical game. We made a few mistakes in the build-up, I think it was because of the tension of the direct clash. We were wrong technically, but our attitude, mentality, and concentration were not lacking at all for 95 minutes. We wanted to do more but it’s OK, I understand the pathos and importance of the match. It’s a step forward, we give continuity to the fact that we haven’t conceded. Let’s not forget that we play every three days and must pay a bit. The result is important and we didn’t risk anything.”
Franck Ribery did not participate and Iachini revealed he had picked up a knock against Lazio. “Franck is an extraordinary guy, I know he cheered on his teammates,” he said. “Unfortunately he took a hit against Lazio and today we didn’t have him available. But he’s always close to the team. He has never betrayed at least since I returned.” Iachini said at the press conference that he’s risking his health working for Viola and explained what he meant. “For me, who played six years in Florence, when I coach Fiorentina, it’s not just any team,” he said. “I’m respected and loved, there’s a human and emotional aspect that makes me feel more. Those who are outside don’t perceive it, but I have found a lot of tension and concern for these last matches.‘’
Fiorentina (3-5-2): Terracciano; Milenkovic, Pezzella, Caceres; Venuti, Bonaventura, Pulgar, Castrovilli, Biraghi; Vlahovic, Ribery

The Partenopei are now realistically in a head-to-head with Juventus for a top-four finish and Gennaro Gattuso’s men have both the advantage and the momentum going into this penultimate round. The Stadio Franchi is not a happy place for Napoli, who famously fumbled a Scudetto with defeat here under Maurizio Sarri. Having said that, Viola wants revenge for losing 6-0 back in January. There is another element to the game, as Gattuso has been repeatedly linked with the Fiorentina job for next season.
Napoli smashed five goals past Udinese, including spectacular strikes from Piotr Zielinski, Fabian Ruiz, and Lorenzo Insigne. The Partenopei ran riot this evening and could’ve had more goals because Insigne also rattled the woodwork with a rocket. Victor Osimhen’s effort was charged down for Zielinski to score the opener, then Fabian Ruiz placed a remote-controlled curler into the far top corner. Stefano Okaka tuned Kostas Manolas to pull one back for Udinese, but it was one-way traffic with Chucky Lozano pouncing on a defensive error and Giovanni Di Lorenzo following up a save. Insigne got his goal eventually, a chest and first-time strike into the bottom corner.
Napoli (4-2-3-1): Meret; Di Lorenzo, Manolas, Rrahmani, Hysaj; Fabian Ruiz, Demme; Lozano, Zielinski, L Insigne; Osimhen
Suspended: None
Injured: Ghoulam, Koulibaly, Maksimovic, Lobotka

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
