France is playing like a world champion having won ten of their last 12 international games, so Finland will have a tough task to make a surprise on Wednesday at the Stade de France.
France will be aiming to build on a 2-1 win over Croatia when they welcome Finland at their Stade de France in a friendly. For France, goals were scored by Antoine Griezmann (8') and Kylian Mbappé (79'), Croatia leveled with Nikola Vlašić (64') but that wasn't enough to stop the world champions.
Fit-again Paul Pogba has made the cut despite recent struggles in a Manchester United shirt, while in-form Borussia M’gladbach attacker Marcus Thuram who is playing the best football in his career could make his France debut against Finland. Kylian Mbappe has been included despite injury problems, but he is unlikely to be risked in Wednesday’s clash. A man to watch in the home team will be Barcelona attacker Antoine Griezmann, who has found his goalscoring touch with Barcelona of late, but he is still far from the impressive, looking back to 2018 and his world cup performances.
The best aspect of Didier Deschamps men is their strength in depth, being able to call upon world-class players throughout their entire squad. Despite not featuring for PSG last weekend, star forward Kylian Mbappe will still try to be fit for international duty and could feature in the next games. France will try the likes of in-form Bayern winger Kingsley Coman and striker Wissam Ben Yedder, who has six goals already in Ligue 1 this season. At home, they have not lost since March of 2018, and have scored two or more goals in 11 of the past 14 such games.
France (4-3-3): Mike Maignan, Benjamin Pavard, Kurt Zouma, Clement Lenglet, Lucas Digne, Moussa Sissoko, Paul Pogba, N’Golo Kante, Kylian Mbappe, Anthony Martial, Kingsley Coman
Finland is building confidence in back-to-back Nations League wins over Bulgaria and Iceland, but they will have a much bigger rival in the next match. A man to keep an eye on in the away team will be Norwich City attacker Teemu Pukki, a Premier League sensation from the start of last season but in the end not able to save his club in the elite competition in England. Talented attacker Marcus Forss, who has been scoring goals for fun with Brentford, is likely to make his Finland debut against France. Finland manager Markku Kanerva has most of his experienced names available with Glen Kamara and Tim Sparv all included in the group to head to Paris. Brentford attacker Marcus Forss and Pafos midfielder Onni Valakari could be handed their debut caps and Leverkusen Lukas Hradecky will be on the goal.
The Scandinavians have impressed following Kanerva’s arrival in 2016 with 17 wins in 27 games and a first-ever tournament qualification for the 2021 European Championships. Finland beat the Republic of Ireland 1-0 last month in the UEFA Nations League. A goal from Augsburg midfielder Fredrik Jensen in the second half was enough to seal the victory. Despite some encouraging signs from Finland, the match against the World Cup holders could be a real test of something they could expect at the EURO.
Finland (4-4-2): Lukas Hradecky, Albin Granlund, Joona Toivio, Paulus Arajuuri, Jere Uronen, Pyry Soiri, Glen Kamara, Tim Sparv, Robert Taylor, Teemu Pukki, Joel Pohjanpalo

The roster depth of the France team is probably unprecedented in the world of football and they are the only side that could bring on the pitch almost their ‘’B’’ team and is favorites on this level. Finland is decent, but France is a clear favorite to score multiple goals.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
