Andre Silva and Bas Dost proved they can play together in the attack and Frankfurt can rely on their good form on Saturday when Hoffenheim visits Deutsche Bank Park.
Andre Silva scored his 10th goal in his last 12 Bundesliga outings as Eintracht Frankfurt picked up their first win of the season with a 3-1 triumph away to Hertha Berlin last Friday. Filip Kostic substituted off with an injury after a quarter of an hour, but five minutes later Silva converted the penalty after being tripped by Dedryck Boyata. Silva has now taken and scored two penalties in the Bundesliga, having previously converted from the spot against Wolfsburg on Matchday 29 last season.
Kevin Trapp had to keep out a brilliant shot by Hertha forward Dodi Lukebakio afterward, but Frankfurt went into half-time two goals when Bas Dost headed in Daichi Kamada’s free-kick. Dost scored a header for the first time in over a year. His last was on Matchday 3 last season in a 2-1 win against Fortuna Düsseldorf.
Trapp had to be alert to deny Jhon Cordoba in the second but just as it looked like the home team would score, Rode curled in a brilliant goal from the edge of the area. Rode scored with his left foot for the first time ever in the Bundesliga. Previously he had struck eight with his right foot, and one with his head. Hertha refused to give in though, but a late own goal from Martin Hinteregger following a driving run by Jordan Torunarigha was all they could muster, as Frankfurt returned home with all three points. Hinteregger's own goal was Frankfurt's 60th in the Bundesliga. Only Werder Bremen, with 61, has more.
Frankfurt: Trapp – Abraham (c), Hasebe, Hinteregger – Toure, Rode, Ilsanker, Zuber – Kamada – Silva, Dost
Doubtful: -
Out: Kostic (knee), N'Dicka (ankle), Willems (knee)

Sebastian Hoeneß and Hoffenheim produced a tactical masterclass to achieve what the likes of European giants all failed to do: beat Bayern Munich in 2020. It ended the treble winners’ 32-match unbeaten run stretching back to December 2019 and ground their top-five-European-leagues record of 23 consecutive victories. Andrej Kramaric inspired his club once again since he put four of them past Borussia Dortmund on the final day of the 2019/20 season back in June the Croatia international is scoring for fun, with the 29-year-old adding a hat-trick on the opening weekend against Koln before hitting a brace in Hoffenheim's historic win over Bayern on Sunday of the 2020/21 season's second weekend: "It was a perfect, amazing game. It doesn't happen every day that you beat the best team in the world and I have to say, maybe you could see and feel that Bayern was a little bit tired, but we took our chance. We were ready, we've been training at 100 percent all week and we did it. I have to say we are really happy, an amazing performance not only from me but from the whole team."
Including that four-goal haul at the Signal Iduna Park, Kramaric has now scored 12 goals in his last five competitive outings for Hoffenheim. The former Leicester City forward leads the Bundesliga's scoring table with five already in 2020/21 but remained composed when asked about his side being top of the table with two wins from two to start the new campaign: "We are happy but we have to improve, we can play better. Today was better than last week but we have to train. We are a young team, we have potential. We can be even better."
Centre-back Ermin Bicakcic got the opening goal, heading home from Dennis Geiger's corner before Munas Dabbur latched onto a loose ball back towards Manuel Neuer before chipping over. Kramaric scored his side's final two goals to take the game away from the defending champions.
Hoffenheim: Baumann (c) – Posch, Vogt, Akpoguma – Kaderabek, Samassekou, Geiger, Skov – Baumgartner – Dabbur, Kramaric
Doubtful: Hübner (ankle)
Out: Bicakcic (knee), Nordtveit (foot), Stafylidis (shoulder)
Coach: Sebastian Hoeneß

It should be a great encounter with a lot of goals with strikers in a great form. Both teams to score looks like almost a sure option.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
