Fulham host Sheffield Utd at the Craven Cottage (London) in the 25th round of the Premier League and the match kicks off at 8 pm (UK) on Saturday, February 20. Read our reasons for Fulham vs Sheffield Utd prediction and betting tips.
Fulham desperately needed the three points at Burnley on Tuesday night (1-1), after winning (2-0) at Everton last time out. They sit within the bottom three having not won the last 13 Premier League games apart from the one against the Toffees (D9, L4). The Cottagers have been playing far better football than their current league position (18th) suggests, but they need to start turning some of those draws into wins. On the other hand, the Blades have a thing going with three wins and four defeats after a comfortable 3-0 loss at West ham last time out, which includes making the quarters of the Cup with a win against Championship side Bristol. It is not much in the grand scheme but any progress is welcome with more than enough games left to survive.
Fulham demonstrated that they are no pushovers recently, but they are making a habit of being on the rough end of fine margins. While the Cottagers have tightened things up at the back, they’ll continue to struggle if they don’t create an attacking platform. Nine draws and two defeats by a single goal in their last thirteen fixtures suggest their battle against the drop will go right down to the wire. Scott Parker's side indeed seem improved, but they still find it hard to win games - which is why they are still in the bottom three.
After a draw at Burnley, Fulham moved to within six points of Premier League safety but their remarkable winless run at Turf Moor continued as the hosts came from behind to claim a 1-1 draw. Relegation-threatened Fulham lost some of the momentum built up by their win at Everton but showed battling qualities to claim a point at Burnley. Of the three sides currently adrift at the bottom of the Premier League, the Cottagers seem the most capable of clawing their way to safety.
As for the Blades, it could be argued that the FA Cup has contributed to an upturn in fortunes for Sheffield Utd in the Premier League in recent weeks. The Blades have taken the cup seriously and used it to get back on the winning ways. They do not lack effort or commitment but, yet again, that has not been enough for them as the Blades seemed unable to hurt the Premier League teams. It was all too evident against the Hammers last weekend.
The Blades have shown signs of fight in recent weeks with victories over Man United, Newcastle, and West Brom, but they can have few complaints about the outcome at London Stadium as their hopes of survival suffered a significant setback. They were once again authors of their own downfall, Basham's clear-cut foul on Lingard and Rice's resulting penalty undoing their bright start. On a bad night in London, defender John Egan also left the pitch with his leg in a protected brace. Barring a great escape, a 19th league defeat leaves the Blades facing a return to the Championship.

Fulham meet Sheffield Utd after losing just one of their last eight league games against Sheffield Utd (W4 D3) and if they are to stay up, they need to improve rather sooner than later. Given that two of their next four games also come against teams currently in the top six, they will need to pull off a few shocks along the way. Scott Parker was happy with a point after their “scrappy” draw, but he will know that only wins will really eat into the gap between themselves and safety.
On the other hand, Chris Wilder’s side have been really competitive recently in the top-flight even when they've lost - against Man City and Chelsea recently when they went down by a single goa, each time. However, they are aware of their predicament and Chris Wilder admitted himself that his team need an "incredible run" to avoid relegation after their awful start to the season.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
